Summary/Abstract: The rights of victims of trafficking in human beings during criminal proceedings are mainly governed by the Code of Criminal Procedure, which does not use the notion of victim, but the notion of injured party or civil party. These provisions are suplemented by the Law no. 678/2001on preventing and combating trafficking in human beings, wich grantes the victimes of trafficking in human beings a set of additional procedural rights, thus placing the victims of trafficking in human beings in a privileged position in comparation with other victimes of criminality. The european legislation, also recognises a special status to the victims of trafficking of human beings, who are granted a set of special procedural rights applicable only to them.
