Covido, ergo zoom! Methodological, technical and ethical issues of remote interviewing during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Summary/Abstract: The study focuses on the issue of methodological, technical and ethical aspects of remote oral history interviewing during the Covid-19 pandemic. The author gradually focuses on the possible pros and cons of remote interviews conducted using modern information technologies without personal contact with the respondent of research. The aim of the text is to provide basic insight into the issue, to point out possible difficulties in the various fields and offer general recommendations (ie best practice) for the planning and conducting remote interviews. The author draws not only from his own experience with recording interviews during the pandemic situation, but also from academic discussions with students and recommendations of the abroad oral‑historical community.
