Summary/Abstract: Spatial order is the overarching goal of spatial economy, associated with obtaining a specific spatial structure, understood in particular as shaping space that creates a harmonious whole, taking into account in a structured relation all the conditions and functional, socio-economic, environmental, cultural and compositional-aesthetic requirements. Thus, it is a spatial order that contains andmaps the regularities of the functioning of society and economy, as well as the functioning of nature. However, the state of public space in Poland, determined by legal regulations, is unsatisfactory. The problem is predominantly uncontrolled processes of settlement development and low quality, aesthetics and functionality of public space. To counteract these phenomena, systemic solutions areneeded that would take care of the spatial order.
