Summary/Abstract: The documents produced by criminal courts represent extremely valuable judicial records because criminal law also refects the cultural level of a given society. Any society’s character and quality are particularly revealed by the judicial procedures used by the authorities to undermine their political opponents. The archival materials regarding the political processes taking place in Slovenia in the first years afer World War II are extremely important for the expertise in Slovenian legal history, Slovenian political, economic, and cultural history, as well as for the insight into the Yugoslav foreign policy and the international situation. They also contribute to the understanding of the present. Many literary, political, expert, and scientifc works have been based on these materials. The contribution at hand focuses on the presentation of all the diferent meanings of these materials. Primarily, it discusses the historical scientifc literature that deals with particular political processes or a group of the same or similar processes. Moreover, it points out the problematic nature of analysing the processes, in particular with regard to determining the guilt of the convicted.
