Summary/Abstract: In the article, the author tries to present the fi gure of an outstanding activist Halina Hurskathrough her eff orts and social initiatives for children. Halina Hurska is a little-known andunderappreciated fi gure in the history of Ukraine and Poland. Born in Warsaw, she waseducated in Brussels, settled in Lviv, undertaking various social and charity initiatives.The activist was often referred to as J. Korczak from Lviv. Works written by Halina Górska:„About Prince Gottfried, Knight of Christmas Eve”, „Over the Black Water”, „Boys from theCity Streets”, „Second Gate”, „Blind Tracks”, in which the writer described the problems ofchildren and the world of their lives, were often published in Poland.Over the years, the fi gure of Halina Górska has been forgotten and underestimatedin Ukraine. However, her social activity is currently being investigated and the works aretranslated into Ukrainian
