Photography as a symbol of solitude

Summary/Abstract: This article is a starting point for a research project on solitude, seen as an artistic experience. Is solitude so indispensable to the spirit that we work unconsciously to acquire it? Should it be the foundation of the artistic act, the creation of space to be filled later? Could it be that “Void” presented by Yves Klein as a virginal form which does not try to explain the actual origin of the void, but to consider it a starting point for time and space in a free sense? I will try to answer these questions in the following pages, narrowing the focus on the artistic field in which I work, photography, described as a symbol of solitude.
