Counterfeiting of coins

Summary/Abstract: In this paper we proceeded to examine the crime of counterfeiting coins, as mentioned in the Criminal Code. In the introductory part, we proceeded to define the offense provided for in the law in force, as well as a comparative examination of these provisions and those of the previous text. We continued with the examination of the pre-existing elements, of the constitutive content, of the forms, modalities and of the sanctions provided in the incrimination text. We paid special attention to the tradition of criminalizing this deed in the Romanian criminal law, referring to the provisions contained in the previous Criminal Codes (the Criminal Code of 1864 and the Criminal Code Carol II). The paper will be included in a university course to be published in the next period. Due to the volume of information, the way of presenting and analysing them, the paper can be useful to students and masters of the profile faculties in the country, as well as to practitioners in the field.
