Summary/Abstract: The Slovak household is relatively sensitive to rising electricity prices. The main reason is that payments are usually billed every month, so it is directly visible as it reduces the amount of funds for daily use. Another reason is that electricity prices determine the prices of other energies and goods and services across the economy. They are therefore an indicator of future development. The article deals with changes in prices of electricity production and distribution in the Slovak Republic in the medium term. It is based on findings and data available for the last 12 years. It explains and compares prices for individual components of the total energy price in different periods. In the end, it focuses on the last 3 to 5 years and, depending on the period, tries to predict electricity distribution prices for the next period.
