Summary/Abstract: Enrolment of students in a madrasa (secondary school founded by the Islamic Community) is traditionally done through entrance examinations. In Bosnia and Herzegovina there are 6 madrasas for which a unique entrance exam is prepared, which consists of tests of Mathematics, the Bosnian language and literature, History and Religious Education. For the last four years tests have been calibrated. For the purposes of the entrance examination for the academic 2013/2014, Riyasat created the database of questions for preparation of candidates for the entrance exam, which had 10 times more questions than the number of questions that were given on the test. Tests have been made available on a web portal of Riyasat (www.rijaset.ba) where all the interested students can study questions, as well as on the websites of each of madrasas. In addition, there is also the possibility of direct downloading the application and practising on a computer without an internet connection, and printing questions. Thus, 150 questions have been made for Religious Education, and for the entrance exam 15 questions are carefully selected. In order to prevent mechanical learning, the form of the questions is altered, i.e. yes-no questions are changed into multiple choice questions (A-B-C-D). Upon completion of the entrance exam (the test part), an extensive analysis of the results is done, which is traditionally done annually. By comparing the results from 2013 with the results from 2010, unique data have been gathered which show that the new way of learning is significantly more effective than the former way of preparing candidates for the admission.
