A doorway towards light – death as a way out of the darkness of petty things

Summary/Abstract: Researchers have often been preoccupied by the subject of death, each seeking to understand something of the mystery of this phenomenon. This study presents the image of death as a doorway to light, as an open doorway to eternal life. In this respect, the author highlights various passages from the Holy Scripture that refer to life and death, to earthly life and to eternal life. Patristic literature and contemporary fathers, as well as some scientists’ opinions contribute to emphasizing the fact that man was created for eternity and death is not an end, but a new beginning, that of placing man in eternity.
