Summary/Abstract: One of the most complex yet important challenges for any society is the advancement of students belonging to a disadvantaged population, thus enabling them to have social mobility and self-fulfillment. The way to meet this challenge is through schools that provide quality education and are managed by talented principals who can influence and divert their students’ development path towards success and achievements. This article focuses on the school leadership that succeeded in causing a change in a school situated in a disadvantaged area where the population is primarily immigrants from a low socioeconomic status. The article focuses on the analysis of the management practices of the school management. Through countless documents, protocols of meetings, results of surveys and tests, interviews and testimonies, we describe the way in which the management practices caused an overwhelming change of the school. The insights arising from the analysis can help educators, principals, and teachers understand the basic principles that can create an educational change.
