Summary/Abstract: The paper aims to emphasize the importance of human behavior in the spread of the COVID-19 virus in general. The objective of the paper is to demonstrate the hypothesis that individual behavior, decisive in the spread of the virus, is strongly influenced by education and socio-cultural context. People behave very differently and during a crisis, pandemics, epidemics. They make more emotional than rational decisions, influenced by their education, but also by values, principles, beliefs, customs, needs, priorities, and trust in authorities. Education and the socio-cultural context are determinants of the behavior of individuals. Ignoring them diminishes the outcome of institutional interventions during a crisis. The research is based on international statistical sources and aims to demonstrate the impact of education and socio-cultural context in the spread of the COVID-19 virus. The research results confirm the initial hypothesis, being validated by other international studies according to which behavior is crucial to control the spread of COVID-19 ”(Anderson et al. 2020; Lunn et al. 2020).
