Summary/Abstract: This study analyzes the resolution of the Supreme Court, according to which the costs of unpaid care performed for an injured person fall within the concept of costs resulting from sustaining personal in- jury. The author presents various judgments of courts and the views presented by the civil law doctrine, pointing out that the view of the Supreme Court can, in principle, be accepted. She adds that there are also arguments that the necessity to use third party assistance may be considered in a specific case not only as a pecuniary damage, but also as a factor taken into account when estimating damages for non-pecuniary loss.
