Professor Stanisław Grodziski’s pilgrimage to the history of law – a sketch of a (not only) scientific portrait

Summary/Abstract: The article presents the figure of a great Cracovian scientist – Professor Stanisław Grodziski (1929–2020). First, the professor’s childhood and adolescent years are presented, including the times of occupation (1939–1945) and the post-war period. Then the author presented the scientific life of the Cracovian researcher. The work shows the directions of Professor Grodziski’s scientific interests, his scientific, didactic, literary and popularising achievements, as well as his activity within the Jagiellonian University in Kraków itself, the Polish Academy of Learning and other scientific organisations. The majority of the Professor’s scientific works are presented in chronological order of their appearance.
