Summary/Abstract: The article examines the linguo-cultural specificity of the concept home in the Ukrainian linguistic picture of the world. A rational research methodology was identified which made it possible, in particular, to determine the lexemes that verbalize the concept home. The lexeme home is analyzed as the dominant of a synonymous series in the modern Ukrainian language. Attention is focused on the experimental study of the stimulus word home, revealed its core, which consists of three presumed elements reflecting the most significant human concepts related to home: family ties, warmth, peace, comfort. The correlation of the concept home in the Ukrainian linguistic picture of the world with the binary archetypal model home/road is revealed. The binary structure of the cultural archetypes of the road / house is embodied in the physical zone of changeability. The home is immutability, comfort, family hearth, fertility; the road involves volatility, anxiety, disorder.
