Controversial implicature by the minister. The case of the “miękiszon” term. Pragma-rhetorical analysis

Summary/Abstract: This article offers a multifaceted interpretation of the controversial "miękiszon" neologism, which Minister of Justice Zbigniew Ziobro used to provoke Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, just as journalists and media scholars suspected. The article uses the tools of pragmalinguistics, rhetoric, and discourse theory to prove the term’s performative and vulgar character. It also attempts to popularize the pragmatic-rhetorical methods of text interpretation.
