Summary/Abstract: The paper explores the use by Euthymius Chudovsky of Maximus the Greek’s achievements in the linguistic revision of biblical texts. The correction and translation of the New Testament by Euthymius in the 1680s demonstrates not only the appeal to the texts translated by Maximus as language patterns, but also further development of Maxim the Greek’s philological criticism of the text of Holy Scripture and its interpretation.
