Summary/Abstract: The paper entitled Postpartum Depression – Gestalt and Clinical Perspective, aims to bring a literature review on Postpartum Depression (PDD) from clinical and gestalt perspective, connecting it with other mood disorders in the perinatal period, while making a clear differentiation between it and other entities, always pointing on gestalt theory and methodology. Namely, the distinction is made between PDD and Depression through the life span, as well PDD and Postpartum Psychosis during the perinatal period, wherein in both cases we are using the clinical as well as gestalt diagnostic paradigm. Having clinical awareness about etiology, we are opening the door for better understanding, prevention, and healing. The most important part is about the connectedness of Postpartum Depression with the Psychological Support System, which serves as a theoretical model that emphasizes the diagnostic as well as the therapeutical process. The Gestalt therapeutic perspective supports to use of Gestalt Therapy as one of the most valuable modalities when it comes to the treatment of Postpartum Depression, although the lack of literature and research is missing. Hence, the application of Gestalt therapy in preventive programs for PDD has to be used more often.
