Summary/Abstract: In the bicentennial year of the birth of the poet V. Alecsandri, our study aims to bring back in the interest of the readers some aspects of the poetic imaginary of the first great representative of the Romanian poetry. In the case of V. Alecsandri, the artistic convention involves the release from the constraints of one literary canon or another. His robust personality, as a complete intellectual, facilitates the free migration between codes and poetic signs between myths, symbols and archetypes marked by the variables specific to culture. All the national treasure of the time infused his creative imaginary. Most of the literary critics and historians consider that, through V. Alecsandri, Romanian poetry has really reached the crossing point from imitation and improvisation to major poetry, originally placed on the axis of modernity.
