Summary/Abstract: The study at hand evokes the scientific, moral and religious personality of the Romanian scholar Nicolae C. Paulescu, apprentice and close collaborator of the illustrious French scientist and physician Lancereaux. Paulscu's greatest achievement was the discovery of insulin for the treatment of diabetes, but this was appropriated by two young Canadian researchers at the University of Toronto, who made the results public seven to eight months before Paulescu. Therefore, they received the Nobel Prize in 1923, despite all of the Romanian scientist's protests. The minute and illustrious scientific research in the field of diabetes and human metabolism is doubled by a high moral standing, a Christian dignity and verticality, which has reached its genius, especially in the relationship with students.Paulescu was a man of profound religiosity and Christian living. He strengthened the edifice of Christian science from a creationist position, with concrete evidence in all aspects: scientific, philosophical and theological. Justly, Nicolae Iorga characterized him in his obituary as one who „lived like a martyr and died like a saint”. That is why he remains a Christian model for Romanian doctors and scholars alike, who is rightfully seen as a protector or spiritual patron. Unity between the natural and supernatural; science – the path towards the boundless vastness of Godliness; „The greatest scientific interpreter of Divinity”; Insulin – epoch-making discovery; discriminated and removed from certain encyclopaedias and international fora.
