THE LAW AS AN INSTRUMENT IN HYBRID WARS

Summary/Abstract: The concept of Lawfare is considered in the context of the hybrid war as a threat to peace and security of the 21st century. Using the law as a weapon can have a tangible impact on democratic states when their opponents use it in an aggressive manner, which means that Lawfare can be used in conducting hybrid wars. The issue of hybrid threats is particularly prevalent nowadays and the conduct of this kind of war is constantly evolving with the use of new methods. The report presents some of the typical methods of conducting the hybrid war. It is also focused on Lawfare, as an advanced form of conflict whose origin we begin to understand and so better to perceive the stakes in the international arena.
