Summary/Abstract: The paper discusses the way in which the meaning of a poetical text is brought to understanding, namely in a transparent distance where the image is possible. It is not an empty distance, but a full one, fulfilled with its meaning made visible. It utters itself as it shows something that can be seen and understood. The distance creates its own form, an undetermined figure printed in the paste of the receptive intuition. It isn’t the reflecting image of a sensible object; in a poetical horizon these objects disappear in favor of a form “altered” through privation or retiring. That what retires itself – lacking in the immediate visibility – realizes in this action a transfer of image, creates in the very place of the sensible disappearance the contour of a new appearance.
