Summary/Abstract: The subject of the article are the rituals performed in the protobulgarian temples and the functions of the facilities used in them. In the temples a cult of the supreme deity - the creator of the universe - was practiced, paying homage to the sky, fire, sun, light, water, the spirit of the ancestors and others. Probably every temple was dedicated to a certain holiday, on which the khan, who was also a high priest, appeared before the people and led the sacred rites and ritual meals. Fire and water are used in the rituals. In some of the temples there were brick pools, in which the holy water was probably stored. A sacred fire was burning on the square altars.
