Summary/Abstract: The proposed article examines the contemporary Bulgarian continuants of the compositions with first component благо-, known to us from the medieval monuments, written in Old Bulgarian language, as well as later Church Slavonic texts. Attention is focused on the semantic changes that occur in words, their stylistic stratification and their distribution as a hereditary share of Cyrillo-Methodian word wealth. The study is based on lexical material, derived from the main lexicography works of Old Bulgarian and Church Slavonic languages.
