Summary/Abstract: The theme of the flaneur (city stroller) has recently evoked strong interest among literary scholars turning to the “structures of everyday life”. This interest hasn't escaped the researchers of Dostoevsky, adopting the viewpoint of the flaneur to re-read the writer's feuilletons, and the novels Landlady and White Nights. The present text follows up on the observations of these works, while also investigating the development of stable motifs in the interpretation of the flaneur theme in Dostoevsky's philosophical novel. The observations attest to the transformation of the image of the flaneur, and the polemic shift of the Ancient example of the “philosophical stroll”.
