30 Years of the Constitution of the Republic of Bulgaria - Achievements and Challenges

Summary/Abstract: The parliamentary system is democratic as long as the Constitution is respected. The situation in our country will significantly improve if the laws and provisions of the Constitution are observed, and this will have a positive impact on the population’s standard of life. All this naturally leaves its mark on the combination of the traditional requirements for democracy and efficiency of the constitutionalsystem of government. It is true that in this form the Constitution complicates the parliamentary system of government, but it also becomes more sustainable, and the complexity of political institutions and procedures usually leads to stability.
