Summary/Abstract: The paper “Taras Shevchenko in the Poetry of the Bulgarian Revival” observes the intertextual communication between the poetic texts by the Ukrainian painter and writer Taras Grigorovich Shevchenko and the lyrics by four representative names in the latest period of the Bulgarian National Revival – Rayko Zhinzifov, Petko Rachev Slavejkov, Lyuben Karavelov and Hristo Botev. The focus of the research is on five aspects in their works – people, I, the role of ‘speaking’, lexical selection and areal measurements – divided in two parts – “People and I” and “Space polarizations”. This way here are pointed out the similarities, the differences and the oppositions in the texts by Shevchenko and the Bulgarian poets for the common objective laws to be deduced, as well as to be presented identical models in constitution of the characters and in constructing of the locations.
