Summary/Abstract: The cultural heritage of Jews in Zenica is manifested through both, material and non-material aspect. Although Jews represent an indigenous community in Bosnia and Herzegovina even since the 16th century, they began to settle in Zenica more intensely with the arrival of Austro-Hungarian monarchy, in 1878. Despite the fact that Jews accounted only a small percentage of the population in Zenica, their contribution to economic and especially to the cultural development of the city was enormous. In a relatively short period of about 60 years, during which they have been actively involved in organizing the everyday life of the city, Jews left a strong imprint to the identity of the city. The memory of the once prominent and active community stays registered through material and non-material inheritance as a symbol of not only Jews but of the entire city of Zenica
