Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the use of dynamic classification for grouping of the universities in Poland. The purpose of the article is an attempt to identify trends in the development of universities in terms of education efficiency and the separation of typological groups of surveyed objects with similar dynamics of the studied phenomenon. For the classification function dynamic linear trend was used, based on which there was prepared the line ordering of the universities and a matrix of distance between a cross-temporal data that was used in Ward's method for the classification of the universities. The analysis covers the period of 2001-2008.
