Summary/Abstract: This article identifies and subsequently analyzes the evolution of Romanian sinology since the establishment of Romanian-Chinese academic exchanges in November 1950. The main focus is to evoke the contributions brought relentlessly by Professor Dr. Anna Eva Budura to developing sinology in Romania. Firstly, the author debates a consistent welter of contentions through which Dr. Budura's intellectual immersion is highlighted; from presenting some of the major challenges that have been faced in the process of building a research foundation for the study of the Chinese world in post-war Romania to the newer conceptual developments in post-communist Romania. Secondly, the author has conducted a series of in-person interviews with Dr. Budura, taken over a period of two years, most of whose results are reflected throughout the article. Thirdly, the author debates the significance of 70 years of Romanian-Chinese academic exchanges (1950-2020) and questions whether this momentum represents continuity or revival for bilateral relations among Romania and the People's Republic of China in the twenty-first century. This perspective is not abandoned at the edge of rhetoric and answers are delivered in this regard. Lastly, the author develops referrals to the contribution that Dr. Budura accomplished and her role in generating aggregated innovation for the further advancement of Romanian sinology. The author calls to attention several ways in which sinology could further be elevated in Romania, namely by integrating the a priori and a posteriori perspectives into the academia as well as by adapting some of the relevant research mechanisms to new conditions.
