Summary/Abstract: The coronavirus pandemic in 2020 affected the whole world, including Slovakia. During the first wave in March 2020, the country faced new socio-economic conditions, requiring also adaption of mass media and their employees. Journalists faced new work conditions. They had limited access to government building and meetings, they were not allowed to enter the premises of the National Council of the Slovak Republic, which significantly limited sources of information. Measures to prevent the spread of the infection were also introduced by individual newsrooms, some journalists worked from home. We ask them how corona crisis changed their professional life. We also bring practical experience with working from home, which has been difficult for, say, television reporters. At the same time, we ask which changes could become permanent, which are beneficial and which are risky.
