Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper is to review the ability of retailers to operate stores on Sunday, as some European states ban or limit Sunday shopping. It begins with introducing the regulations governing shopping hours in Poland and other EU member states are introduced. Next, the authors discuss arguments in favour of and against Sunday shopping, as well as its economic and social consequences.
