Summary/Abstract: This study aims to provide an overview of the main results of archaeological research carried out at Urlaţi (Prahova County) between 2013 and 2017 on a settlement attributed to the Gumelniţa culture. Information regarding the research strategy, the uncovered features, categories of artefacts and the chronology of this site are included. The results of these excavations are incorporated into a broader discussion regarding the development of the Gumelniţa world in northern Muntenia, with particular reference to the natural and cultural peculiarities of this landscape that seems to mark its northern limit.
