Summary/Abstract: The paper elaborates on the impact of the film image, which is perceived as a dynamic sign, on our perception. It ponders over the philosophical and theoretical lines dedicat¬ed to the ,,cinematographic" concepts of designation. It examines Leibniz's (Gottfried W. Leibniz) concepts of perception, aperception, and monad, Bergson's (Henri Bergson) concepts of image/matter in respect of memory, image/body and the perception cen tre, and, last but not least, Deleuze's (Gilles Deleuze) concepts of image-motion, image-time, and the indefiniteness centre. The pivotal idea of the paper is put into opposition with the semiotic and linguistic concepts of Ch. S. Pierce, L. Wittgenstein, and F. Saus-sure. It differs from them especially by its interest in the dynamic interpretation of the sign phenomena and by its emphasis on the analysis of perception and motion, which are the fundamental components linking cinematography and its theoretical reflection. On the one hand, cinematography is a non-sign system for perception, and, in parallel, at taking a retrospective cognitive approach, it becomes a sign system. Hence, it may be stated that cinematography is composed of perception image-signs.
