Subjekt protiv subjektivnosti

Author(s): Predrag Krstić / Language(s): Serbian

This book seeks to reconstruct Adorno’s understanding of the subject and probe the status, meaning and scope of this concept within his philosophy. In the first part, after the introduction, the concept is broken into its essential component meanings; furthermore, some adverse consequences are indicated that, in Adorno’s view, have been brought by the concept’s hypertrophy, in thought as well as in its practical applications. The next section of the book is a sort of necessary intermediate step: in it, the central role is played by the concept of identity which in Adorno’s nomenclature, along with the subject, marks the destiny of Western thought and action. The central and most extensive part of the text is devoted to thematizing the subject – and/or identity-character of traditional philosophy, and the ensuing „fatal strategies“. The next chapter examines the possibilities for overcoming or escaping this destiny of Western thought through the concepts of ‘non-identical’and ‘not being a subject’, i.e. through the emancipatory potential of traditional philosophy and metaphysics in light of their Adornian recomposition. The concluding parts of the book attempts to assess contemporary relevance – or lack thereof – of Adorno’s philosophy in the context of current controversies. A positioning of its significance enables, in the conclusion, to explicate those provocative moments of Adorno’s theory that, rather than growing obsolete, precisely determine in a substantial sense some recent disputes.

Niko živ ne može vršiti dekonstrukciju. Ka Deridinoj epistemologiji fantomskog

Author(s): Ugo Vlaisavljević / Language(s): Bosnian Publication Year: 0

Already in his earliest writings on Husserl, Derrida came to believe that the essence ofWestern thought lies in its will to secure a lasting presence of things. His determination of metaphysics as a metaphysics of presence has become very known and abundantly interpreted. However, there is a scandalous silence concerning his complementary determination of metaphysics as a metaphysics of life. As for all history of philosophy, and most evidently at its end in Husserl, the presence meant a vivid presence, a full presence of Life to itself. So the famous critique of metaphysics has to be, not in a second place, a critique of the philosophy of Life. How much seriously have we taken Derrida’s early insight that “the living present”, that ultimate ground of phenomenology, which is in turn characterized as “the most modern, critical and vigilant form of metaphysics,” is “a concept that cannot be broken down into a subject and an attribute?” To take a clear hold on this issue is to see in deconstruction a thought that tries to introduce into philosophy not death in general but “my own death.” In comparison with the metaphysics, its proper register is neither life nor death. Deconstruction turns out to be a thought that is not afraid of being haunted by specters and phantoms.

IBN SINA - ČUVENI IRANSKI FILOZOF I LIJEČNIK

Author(s): / Language(s): Bosnian

Much more information is available about Ibn Sina and his life than about any other Muslim philosopher. This is primarily due to the biography written by his loyal disciple Abu ‘Ubayd Jozjani (died 1046), and the first part of which is actually autobiographical, i.e. it was written by Ibn Sina himself. This writing will later be known as "Sargozasht" or "Sira" (both words, the first in Persian, the second in Arabic denoting a biography or biography). The oldest text of this biography available today is the book "Tatimah siwan al hikmah", the book of Zahiruddin Abu Hasan 'Ali ibn Zayd Beyhaki, which includes some recent information about Ibn Sinau. In addition to this, we have two other accounts of Ibn Sina's life, one in the book Uyun al Inba by Abu Usaybi, and the other in Ibn Qafti's history Tarikh al hikmah. However, the data we find in these two sources differ from each other, although both authors refer to Jozgani's tradition. In addition, Ibn Khalqan in his "Wafiyat al Aajan" brings certain information, which he seems to have taken from Beyheki, and which we do not find in Abu Usaybi and Ibn Qafti. Many years ago, Ahmed Fuad Ahvani found a text of Ibn Sina's biography on the margins of a manuscript copy of Shahrazuri's work "Nuzhetu-l-Arvah". According to Ahvani, these margins were written by Ahmed Kashi in 1353. In 1952, on the occasion of the thousandth anniversary of Ibn Sinai's birth in Cairo, Ahvani published a work entitled "Nukatun fi ahvali Sheikh al Reis Ibn Sina" (Sketches from the Life of the Great Teacher Ibn Sinai), as part of the collection "Zikr Ibn Sinaa". William E. Gohlman published a critical edition of this manuscript in 1974, based on several versions of it, with an English translation, entitled »The life of Ibn Sina«.

MEVLANA, RAZUM I FILOZOFIJA

Author(s): Ibrahim Kalin / Language(s): Bosnian Publication Year: 0

In this essay, restraints of the human mind in Mevlana’s critique of ratio are pointed out, and relativity of all teachings that observe truthfulness and the Absolute Truth through narrow horizons of individual cognition, enquiries and doubts as well. Mevlana does not reject the mind – he only points to snares and traps that mind has to avoid and overcome to reach insight. A clear insight is reached when the mind – following the process set by it – overcomes its own doubts, that is, the state of cognition which is reached by the mind limited by its own borders. However, when the mind realizes its own limitations, it becomes open for insights into the Absolute Mind, a collection of principles that inspire each individual mind. The Absolute Mind is wholeness, while the limited mind is a part. Each and every human insight is relative. It can be a sign, a symptom of the Truth, but it does not represent the truth in wholeness, and there fore the meaning of being has to be more than its individual manifestations.

Humanistička i bogočovečanska kultura

Humanistička i bogočovečanska kultura

Author(s): Justin Popović / Language(s): Serbian Publication Year: 0

On je vrhovni stvaralac i davalac vrednosti. Zar niste primetili kako on neizmerno voli da boluje, da boguje naukom i tehnikom, filosofijom i kulturo, religijom i politikoim, umetnošću i modom, – da boguje po svaku cenu, makar inkvizicijom i papizmom, makar mačem i ognjem, makar – trogloditstvom i ljudožderstvom? On je jezikom svoje humanističko – pozitivističke nauke objavio da – nema Boga. I vođen tom logikom on je smelo izveo zaključak iz toga: pošto nema Boga, onda sam ja – bog !

Svetosavska filosofija kulture

Svetosavska filosofija kulture

Author(s): Justin Popović / Language(s): Serbian Publication Year: 0

S jedne strane, dušu našu privlači metežni Zapad magnetskom težinom svojom, a s druge – mami nas spokojni Istok tajanstvenom krasotom svojom. Pod politiranom korom Zapada tutnje vulkanske protivrečnosti, pod hrapavom korom Istoka šume bogočežnjive ponornice duha. I nas rastržu dva sveta.

Author(s): Filip Kovačević / Language(s): Montenegrine

To je djelo 1964. Anđelko Habazin preveo za izdavačku kuću «Veselin Masleša» u Sarajevu pod naslovom Kako čitati Hegela.

Über die Möglichkeit Visuellen Denkens

Author(s): Alexei Krioukov / Language(s): German Publication Year: 0

K významovým a výrazovým dimenziám motívu domova v spisoch uhorských protestantských exulantov v 17. storočí

Author(s): Petra Rusňáková / Language(s): Slovak Publication Year: 0

Until the half of the 17th century Hungary was a country where even non-catholic religious communities were tolerated. Although in the second half of the 17th century the ruling dynasty of Habsburgs reacted more strictly to movements in Europe and inside the monarchy (Turkish occupation, thirty years’ war, anti-habsburg rebellions). In order to internally strengthen his empire, the monarch took steps related also to religion. Religious homogenity was at that time considered to be one of the country stability aspects. Due to that catholic Habsburgs decided to eliminate majoritarian protestant communities—evangelicals a. c. and the reformed (calvins). On the basis of events from this period there came to existence a new type of literature reflecting mentioned facts. Authors were scholars and priests that became exiles or even galleymen. In connection with that they work explicitly or implicitly with a motif of home in their writing. The paper focuses on analysis of semantic and expressive dimensions of this motif.

Patočkova kritika metafyziky v kontexte Nietzscheho a Heideggerovej filozofie

Patočkova kritika metafyziky v kontexte Nietzscheho a Heideggerovej filozofie

Author(s): Dušan Hruška / Language(s): Czech Publication Year: 0

The idea of negative platonism, formulated by Jan Patočka in the early 50’s, can be understood as an interpretation of the history of philosophy, with a special reference to it’s Greek origin. It opens the way to critical thinking in connection with the metaphysical tradition and to the formulation of basic phenomenological themes, but ultimately it leads to the reconstruction of the conditions for further Greek interpretation of the Christian heritage. Patočka reconstructs the approach of Greeks understanding of metaphysics in the sense of shifting from a non-objectivizing way of understanding the world as a whole to fulfilling the ambition of a systematic knowledge of absolute reality. Based on this, Patočka proposes a new reading of Plato – a sphere of thought, separated from empirical reality, becomes a symbol of human freedom, which is understood as the ability to overcome the (objective) world, creating the possibility of understanding it as an absolute horizon. Then the concept of freedom refers to the hidden subject of metaphysics, with a more explicit rethinking of this problem in the context of Patočka’s reflections associated with selected problems of Nietzsche and Heidegger’s philosophy.

Dvě hemisféry – dva světy: O vztahu asymetrie mozku a trendů v současné západní společnosti

Author(s): Daniel Krchňák / Language(s): Czech

Contemporary Western society is going through myriad dramatic changes and many people view current societal development disapprovingly. Dissatisfaction with the current state of society is widespread in the general public and also many experts point out the worsening state of our environment, increasing inequality, degradation of social capital, and the increase in mental illness. Numerous books have asked how to reverse such an unfavourable development in our society. The monograph Two hemispheres, two worlds looks at this issue through the novel lens of differences in the functioning of brain hemispheres. Research in brain hemisphere differences has made remarkable progress since overcoming the simplistic dichotomy of the rational left hemisphere and the emotional right hemisphere. Two hemispheres, two worlds reviews the most recent findings on brain asymmetry research and identifies as a common trait among all particular differences the right-hemispheric experience-affiliation and the left-hemispheric representation-affiliation. The left-hemispheric take on the world is subsequently identified as having a major influence on the modus operandi of our society and a striking parallel is shown between our current societal ills and the problems of people with a dysfunctional right-hemisphere. Finally, the author sketches specific public policies that could contribute to a more “hemispherically-balanced” society.

THE HEART AS AN IMAGE OF DEIFICATION IN MYSTICAL WRITING

THE HEART AS AN IMAGE OF DEIFICATION IN MYSTICAL WRITING

Author(s): Magda Kučerková / Language(s): English Publication Year: 0

The paper explores two phenomena powerful in life and interpretive terms: the heart and deification. One is understood as deeply human, the other as metaphysically appealing. It is a connection present in the history of Christian thinking for a long time, since the heart is perceived as an inner space where God meets man, in the most intimate form, which can only acquire the character of unification. Deification, as the experience of Christian mystics and mystics shows, basically means the deepest unification with God and activation of the change in God’s love. The issue examined in the paper is presented in the form of a brief guide to the theological concept of deification, and also the convergence of the historical and biblical views of the heart. The core of thinking about the topic is the interpretation of the heart as an inner image the (heart as the center, exchange of hearts) and the interpretation of the phenomenality of deification in the context of written mystical experience.

TRACING THE ABSENT. HILMA AF KLINT’S MYSTICAL LANGUAGE

Author(s): Mónica Sánchez Tierraseca / Language(s): English Publication Year: 0

The main aim of this paper is to study the mysticism of the Swedish artist Hilma af Klint (1862–1944) in relation to her religious experience and her searching for existential answers through contact with divine entities. Although the identity of these figures is not clear, we are aware of their familiarity with Christian beliefs. Thus, in this paper we attempt to approach Af Klint’s Christian, metaphysical and anthroposophical message by analysing her notebooks. Particularly, we focus on the symbolic aspect of one of them made between 1919 and 1920, entitled Flowers, Mosses, and Lichens.

Hymn na dzień Zwiastowania N. P. Maryi i metafizyka

Author(s): Jerzy Fiećko / Language(s): Polish Publication Year: 0

The author dissects one of Adam Mickiewicz’s first mystical poems, entitled Hymn for the Day of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, written in Decem- ber 1820. The article ultimately presents the thesis that this poem introduces themes of prophethood, pride and the genius of the prophet-artist that are fundamental to the later, mature phase of the poet’s oeuvre; it also makes an initial attempt to develop the poetics of a mystical vision, to search for language suitable for it, to use the trick of the ‘mystical paradox’. He also analyses the Judaic-Jewish and, less obviously, neo-Gnostic references that are important in this poem (he is particularly concerned with Jakob Boehme’s ideas), and enters into a critical dialogue with the research tradition (especially with the studies by Stefania Skwarczyńska and Zdzisław Kępiński). In the first part of the argument, he de- votes a great deal of attention to the poetics of the work, and its hymnic connections, but also recognises that the form of the visionary work was subordinated to the poet’s mental projection, and this is the sphere to which the author of the sketch devoted most attention.

Platon, Katon i Tadeusz Rejtan: tyrania i metafizyka u Jacques’a Delille’a i Adama Mickiewicza

Author(s): Mateusz Stróżyński / Language(s): Polish Publication Year: 0

The article discusses the significance of the portrait of Tadeusz Rejtan in Book I of Pan Tadeusz, showing how Mickiewicz combines the ancient and medieval tradition associated with Cato the Younger and Jacques Delille’s Dithyramb on the Immor- tality of the Soul. Rejtan becomes an archetype of opposition to tyranny transplanted into Polish culture and the experience of the partition. Mickiewicz imbues this archetype with a distinctly metaphysical character, inspired by Plato’s philosophy, going beyond the his- torical context and towards the eternal and universal.
