On the basis of the natural connections between the science and mathematics, an interdisciplinary approach is applied in the non-formal chemistry classes of the Sofia High School of Mathematics. The 7th grade students have pronounced mathematical ability and the teacher is competent in chemistry and mathematics. In this case chemistry and mathematics are integrated both on the basis of content and procedural level. Seventh graders apply their mathematical knowledge and skills in acquisition of new chemistry knowledge. They solve problems and develop projects, requiring integration of both subjects. In this way, students form complex communication, problem-solving and systemic thinking skills. As a result of the approach used, students develop their talents and abilities, increase their interest in science, and improve their achievements at the Olympiads in Chemistry.

The paper is an elaboration by high school students under the scientific advices of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Veselin Nenkov. The new results in it were estimated highly during its presentation at the International competition “Methodology and Information Technologies in Education” in 2018 and the work was awarded first prize. It is dedicated to a well-known problem for triangle and quadrilateral areas determined by triangle secants. A general formula is found for the area of one of the triangles. The areas of triangles are determined when obtained by isotomic and isogonal transformations in the plane of a given triangle. What is investigated is the question for equal areas of the obtained triangles and the generating ones.

The article focuses on the possibilities of online eTwinning projects to develop basic knowledge, skills and attitudes related to key competence “communication in foreign languages”. As a modern virtual classroom, TwinSpace provides tools for synchronous and asynchronous communication. As a result of interaction in informal environment of online projects, language is used for interaction and real communication in an authentic way. Students participate in non-traditional communication formats like quizzes, voting and videoconferences, which encourage them to present their opinions. These activities develop essential skills for communication in foreign language, encourage students to read, listen and appreciate the work of their partners and motivate learners to be more reluctant when it comes to speaking, studying and communicating in a completely different way.

Coaching has grown rapidly in the last twenty years, reflecting increased level of interest in the field. The widespread popularity, however, has been largely attributed to the anecdotal feedback about its effectiveness due to considerable gaps in the empirical research base. The aim of this study is to explore the role of coaching in relation to transformational changes with particular reference to housing association mergers in the UK. As a result of constant merger activity, the largest twenty housing associations own 30% of the market share and the trend is likely to continue, making the research outcomes useful for future strategic planning of housing association mergers. The study found that coaching plays an important role in housing association mergers and transformational changes especially in creating a new shared identity and staff integration after housing association mergers. Integration can keep the merged housing associations together, thus reducing the merger failures in the housing associations.

The purpose of this document is to explore an effect of debate used in university education process on development of critical thinking. This study used a quasi-experimental research and involved two classes of students grouped into experimental group and control group. A tailored version of standardized critical thinking test inspired by Watson Glaser Critical Thinking Appraisal, a test of controversy and a self-evaluation were used as research instruments. Even thought, that our results showed that a use of debate has no effect on development of critical thinking level and critical thinking drill has no effect on level of estimate in self-evaluation, there are some implications for educators, psychologists, methodologists and philosophers.

The article addresses the value of old age as a criterion for seeking the meaning of life. Such an approach contradicts not only contemporary postmodern culture, which emphasizes vitality and youthfulness, but also the utilitarianism that dominates contemporary secular ethics. Specifically, this approach considers human life in terms of quality of life, which results in an arbitrary refusal of some quality and the simultaneous right to exist. In this regard, the personalistic approach in bioethics that Pope John Paul II’s teaching, life, aging, and death expemplify affirms that old age is an inalienable sphere of the value and sanctity of human life.

The justice has been one of the most cited concepts throughout human history. Although the justice has been examined with different meanings and appearances, no consensus has been reached on its definition. The distinctions made on justice make it easier to understand. It can be said that the first systematic classification of justice in philosophy started with Aristotle (d. 322 BC). Aristotle's classification of distributive and rectificatory justice has been adopted by subsequent philosophers. al-Fârâbî (d. 339/950), al-Âmîrî (d. 381/992) and Ibn Miskawayh (d. 421/1030) have adopted this classification of Aristotle. al-Fârâbî's natural justice, Raghıp al-Isfehânî's (the first quarter of the 11th century) absolute and qualified justice classification, and Ibn Miskawayh's natural, legal, optional and Divine justice are the original classification of these philosophers. These justice classification of Islamic philosophers who are mentioned have also been adopted by philosophers who have follow them. In addition, the similarites between Ibn Miskawayh's four justice classification and Western Medieval philosopher Thomas Aquinas’s (d. 1274) four law distinctions were also noted in this article.
