Among the pedagogies with contributions to the history of pedagogy, we chose the studies of two representative contemporary authors: E.D.Dneprov and B.M.Bim-Bad. This article investigates in depth the characteristics of the interdisciplinary social theory of neo-Marxism, as a moderate response with socio-economic influences on the paradigm of postmodern brand management (defined by the theory of iconic brands and cultural branding - as a model by which brands become icons through creative interaction with their environment, on the one hand, and the anti-capitalist, anti-corporate and anti-branding movement, on the other), both included in a constructivist-interpretivist paradigmatic scheme. This type of critical approach, through reinterpretations and extensions of the ideas of social philosopher Karl Marx, replaces the marketing paradigm as a model of "social engineering" in the words of Douglas B. Holt and proposes new perspectives on the concept of consumer culture in which brands are seen as forms of intangible capital, with the main demands proposed by the anti-branding movement being highlighted, as well as the criticisms brought to “consumer culture”.

This article justifies the thesis that the full implementation of the Smart City concept (re-development of cities around the world) will significantly reduce the stress in which their inhabitants live. The article starts with introducing the very concept of Smart City: why there is a need to rebuild cities and what it is all about. Then, it lists the basic stressors related to living in a city, and finally indicates which Smart City activities (standardized by ISO and implemented by the European Union legislation) counteract the aforementioned stressors.

This study aims to analyse the gender dimension in the European Parliament elections in May 2019 based on the extensive research carried out at the level of the entire European Union (Platform Europe 2019). Our main objective was to identify the extent to which there are gender differences in the multimodal content included in the documents and items used during the election campaign for the 2019 European Parliament in all EU countries at the time. Besides identifying the types of items in the campaign and the gender of politicians, in our analysis we focused on similarities and differences by gender dimension in terms of the main message of the content conveyed, the emotion used by the documents as leverage, the rationality called for by the documents, as well as some nonverbal codes, such as the facial expression and the outfit of politicians. According to our analysis, we are witnessing a new phase of ‘hybridization’, that is, in terms of messages transmitted and attitudes adopted, a two-way process has been identified: not only do female politicians adopt attitudes and behaviours regarded as masculine, but also male politicians take on attributes considered feminine, such as displaying emotionality.

In recent years, the trends in tourism industry have been those of returning to nature and (re) discovering authentic cultural values. Of all the forms of tourism, ecotourism is distinguished by the strongest link with the natural and cultural environment, representing the sustainable tourism with the highest growth rate in the world. Our research focuses on women’s entrepreneurship, ecotourism, and local development. The main objective of our research is to collect success stories on the empowerment of women through entrepreneurship in the field of tourism in Romania in order to show the link between tourism and the socio-economic development of women. The interviews with 10 women entrepreneurs from different regions of Romania highlighted important themes such as the socio-professional trajectory; the work environment; the entrepreneurial motivation; the assigned or assumed gender roles; the impact of small businesses on local communities; the personal and professional life balance; the gender discrimination; the effect of the pandemic on business; the networking. We noticed interferences and overlaps such as the complementarity of small business entrepreneurship and the duplication and management of one's tourism business. We also noticed that the pandemic has helped women entrepreneurs maintain their projects because restrictive measures have affected more mass tourism than ecotourism. The entrepreneurs have shown the desire to develop and promote the ecotourism sector in Romania, while remaining independent in the labor market.

In connection with the actions of the Great War and Poland’s regaining of independence, a series of updated carols was created, leading to the development of this species variety. The development of this form of artistic expression was also used in connection with the preparations for the plebiscite. The project was carried out in the Upper Silesian Voivodship. An example is the Silesian carol by Henryk Zbierzchowski published in “Szczutek” in Lviv in January 1921. It was introduced to the text of the Korfanty carol and thus assigned a sacred role of putting Silesia in order. It was not the only text of the carol updated by the same author because around 1919 he published a whole collection of such works, calling them “poetic variants” of carols.

The purpose of the study is to identify and categorise the lexical units denoting teachers’ emotions in the context of distance learning during the COVID-19 lockdown. Research methods: discourse and content analysis, categorisation, questionnaire “The emotional aspects and attitudes of teachers to various aspects of reform in secondary education”. The sample consisted of 413 teachers (90.3% female) who participated in an online survey. Teachers taught at different educational levels (i.e., elementary, middle and secondary schools). They completed self-report questionnaire that assessed their feelings towards remote learning. Predominantly positive and sthenic emotions (interest and joy) were reported regarding distance learning. The perception of online learning as the only possible form has changed teachers’ discourse regarding interaction with students: there was a shift from positive emotions towards negatively marked asthenic lexical units (disappointment, anxiety and disapproval). The emotional component of teachers’ attitudes towards online learning was characterised as undifferentiated in the beginning of distance learning. As teachers’ involvement in online learning increased, the share of respondents with an indifferent attitude decreased, while the share with a positive attitude towards this innovation - increased. Teachers’ discourse is characterised by a positive emotional connotation at the start of online learning; however, the awareness of the inevitability of such a format led to the predominance of negatively marked, asthenic emotions. A decrease was measured in the frequency of such lexical units such as “interest” and “joy”, while “confidence in oneself” has sharply increased.

In the past 30 years the socio-economic field has gone through both theoretical and practical challenges, being accompanied by new orientations such as the environmental psychology. Since “man” is the pawn to which and for which socio-economic systems get adjusted, we believe it is useful to analyze the position of human thinking and action in relation to the environment given the strong interdependence relationships man-nature. The content elements of the environmental psychology allow the analysis of perceptions towards the environment from the perspective of the benefits and the impact which result from the interaction man-nature. To this aim, we performed a survey on a sample of 308 students in order to identify the level and quality of perception of the environmental values from several points of view: knowledge, attitude and behaviour. The study focused on the perception from the perspective of the involvement in ensuring the functionality of the new bio-psycho-socio-economic systems. The environmental psychology can be a real asset in explaining the relational mechanisms between people and the environment and its values. The main reason why we chose to study this subject was that the implementation of the environmentally-friendly development models is conditioned by the degree of social reception and by the level of knowledge and appreciation of environmental values. The results of the study demonstrated that the socio-demographic differences and the educational background influence the perception of the environment, together with the adoption of a favourable attitude accompanied by a pro-environment behaviour.
