«КАЛИНИНГРАДСКИЙ ТЕКСТ» КАК РЕПРЕЗЕНТАЦИЯ РЕГИОНАЛЬНОЙ ИДЕНТИЧНОСТИ

«КАЛИНИНГРАДСКИЙ ТЕКСТ» КАК РЕПРЕЗЕНТАЦИЯ РЕГИОНАЛЬНОЙ ИДЕНТИЧНОСТИ

Author(s): L.M. Gavrilina / Language(s): Russian / Issue: 5/2013

The article addresses local texts as a representation of the regional identity and as a form and the method of its creation. During the two recent decades there has been a real boom of local texts which became a reaction vis-à-vis the existing identity crisis. This is the way for local communities to establish “the local order against background of a global chaos” in the context of the “liquid modernity” (Z. Bauman), by trying to make its space more meaningful through constructing special features of their locus. The author of the article defines the phenomenon of the “Kaliningrad text” as a “local super-text” that has emerged as a manifestation of the Kaliningrad sub-culture and representation of a regional identity. The article emphasizes structural characteristics of the “Kaliningrad super-text”, its key themes and tunes, the stages of its genesis and trends of its development.

«Мьёльнир» над Гнёздовым (sacré — знак благодати или беды?)

«Мьёльнир» над Гнёздовым (sacré — знак благодати или беды?)

Author(s): Vasily A. Bulkin,Valerii N. Sedykh / Language(s): Russian / Issue: 5/2018

The Ph. D. thesis by Vasily Aleksandrovich Bulkin (1973) analyzed the materials from Gnezdovsky burial cemetery near Smolensk. This site had always remained in the focus of his attention; in 1969—1970 he participated in the field research there, and always followed the latest discoveries at Gnezdovo. The main topic of his study was the history and archeology of the Dvina and Upper Dnieper region of the first and early second millennium AD. Especially fruitful was his interest in East European river names, and the Dnieper and Dvina historical and cultural zone, in particular. In this paper, on the basis of hydronymic data, an attempt is made to explain the phenomenon of Gnezdovo as a sacral zone.

«Новая нормальность» в российской экономике: региональная специфика

«Новая нормальность» в российской экономике: региональная специфика

Author(s): Yakov Petrovich Silin,Yevgeniy Georgiyevich Animitsa,Natalya Valeryevna Novikova / Language(s): Russian / Issue: 3/2016

The main objective of the article is to study the concepts of “New Normal”, “New Industrialization” and the questions of formation and development of the productions of the fifth and sixth technological modes in the regional economic area. Substantive expansion of “New Normal” concept was argued, it became popular during the global financial and economic crisis of 2008. The logic of transformation to a “New Normal” is true not only for the world economy, individual countries and regions, but also for the Sverdlovsk region. The scientific hypothesis of the article consists in the identifying the characteristics of “New Normal” at the regional level and showing the possible directions of transformation from a «New Normal” situation using the concept of new industrialization for the regional economy. The main features of “New Normal” in the region were identified and analyzed. There are, for example, the slow growth of industrial production, the reducing of the investment climate, the low dynamics of metal prices. It is proved that the realization of the concept of new industrialization in the region can become the most attractive answer to the challenges of «New Normal». The need for the integration of the processes of new industrialization with the formation and development of the productions of the fifth and sixth technological waves is proved. The article is focused on the possibility of the transformation of the Sverdlovsk region in the region of the technological breakthrough of the 21st century. It is demonstrated that during 15–20 years, the priority will be the development of the productions of the fifth and sixth technological waves that will be based on the high-tech production of military-industrial complex, nuclear energy as well as nanotechnology and nanomaterials. It is proved that at this time, the model of innovative development of the region may be realized. It is able to lead the regional economy out of the labyrinth of “New Normal” and to move it to a new growth path.

«Подземная география» и хтонические мотивы в ранних повестях Гоголя

Author(s): Ágnes Dukkon / Language(s): Russian / Issue: 2/2008

The young Gogol published a study on the teaching of geography for children in 1831. At the same time, he was writing the collection of short stories. Evenings on a Farm near Dikanka (1831-1832). We can observe interesting connections between his texts - prose fictions and pedagogical writing - of this period: motives belonging to geography, history and folklore make a specifically large context. The author's interest in geology, as he writes, in the „underground geography” ("подземная география") - the earth’s crust, rocks, strata - corresponds with the "underground mythology and folklore"’ in the Dikanka stories, with the demonic figures (колдун, ведьма, черт), places (abyss, ravine, depths of the earth, swamp, churchyard) and time (night). In this study, on the basis of the Gogol’s long-time unedited manuscripts (Неизданный Гоголь, ed. by I. A. Vinogradov, Moscow, 2001) we investigate the common roots of the seemingly heterogeneous motives to discover the hidden strata and meanings of his early works.

Author(s): Saida Valerevna Sirazhudinova / Language(s): Russian / Issue: 4/2017

The article examines the issue of family and sexual violence in the republics of the North Caucasus. The republics of the North Caucasus are distinguished by the fact that here you can find a whole range of issues related to domestic violence and sexual assault, both common forms, and specific regional, even local. The author refers to the results of sociological research devoted to the study of violence against women conducted in the Republic of Dagestan. The results showed that the theory of control is still relevant to Dagestan, as legitimatization of violence and male domination. The forms of violence against women could be of a multifaceted and disguised character.

Author(s): Ferhunde Küçükşen Öner / Language(s): Turkish / Publication Year: 0

Çar I. Aleksandr Döneminde Rusya’nın Azerbaycan’da İşgalcilik Siyaseti

Çar I. Aleksandr Döneminde Rusya’nın Azerbaycan’da İşgalcilik Siyaseti

Author(s): Ramin Sadigov / Language(s): Turkish / Issue: 59/2018

From the era of Tsar Petro I until today, migrating south for the winter (so to speak) has always been the main target of Russian foreign policy. In doing this, Russia was well aware that it first needed to take claim over the South Caucasus. This, however, had faced strong opposition by both the Ottomans and by Iran/Persia, who had dominated certain areas of the region. Nevertheless, Petro I's policy of invading the south was also the main target of the tsars, and within a hundred years, the entire South Caucasus had fallen under Russian domination. Due to its geographical location, Azerbaijan was occupied during the reign of Alexander I. Therefore, in this study the occupation activities of Tsarist Russia in Azerbaijan and the resulting Russian-Iranian conflicts have been evaluated based on Russian resources from that period. Therefore, we feel that published narratives, memoirs, travel notes, and history books are of importance in terms of learning about Russian policies both over the South Caucasus as a whole and, more specifically, over the Azerbaijani khanates.

Çeçenistan’da Yeni Dönem ve Kadirov Yönetimi

Çeçenistan’da Yeni Dönem ve Kadirov Yönetimi

Author(s): Hayati Aktaş,Keisuke Wakizaka / Language(s): Turkish / Issue: 62/2019

The Chechen nationalist movement which have risen since 1990 gained large-scale support from a great number of Chechen people under Dzhohar Dudayev’s leadership and Chechens harshly resisted against the attacks of the Russian army. This resistance and Russia’s difficult situation led to the signing of the Khasavyurt Peace Accord in 1996 and Chechnya-Ichkeria won a de facto independence from Russia. However, thereafter chaos and conflicts became dominant in Chechnya, the Chechrn government weakened and Wahhabists, who increased their influence and obtained supports from some Chechen magnates, began to form threat against people. In this situation, many people who supported Chechen’s war for independence such as Akhmad Kadyrov fronted to getting along with Russia. Although Kadyrov’s regime, established with Russia’s support in the beginning of 2000s, is often criticized due to its violation of human rights and pro-Russian behavior, the Chechen people in Chechnya, who are tired of living in chaos and war, prefer Kadyrov’s regime, which brought welfare, order and peace to Chechnya and is the “lesser evil”. Besides, Russia’s uncertain future creates uneasiness on Chechnya’s future. While Ramzan Kadyrov can play a more important role in Russia after Putin, this fact lies on the basis of criticisms against Kadyrov.

ÇEVİRİ: ‘Diyaspora’nın diyasporası

ÇEVİRİ: ‘Diyaspora’nın diyasporası

Author(s): Rogers Brubaker / Language(s): Turkish / Issue: 1/2017

Son on yıldır ‘diyaspora’ teriminin kullanımının artmasıyla birlikte anlamı da çeşitlilik kazanmıştır. ABSTRACT IN ENGLISH As the use of ‘diaspora’ has proliferated in the last decade, its meaning has been stretched in various directions. This article traces the dispersion of the term in semantic, conceptual and disciplinary space; analyses three core elements that continue to be understood as constitutive of diaspora; assesses claims made by theorists of diaspora about a radical shift in perspective and a fundamental change in the social world; and proposes to treat diaspora not as a bounded entity but as an idiom, stance and claim.

Author(s): Ibrahim Sirkeci / Language(s): Turkish / Issue: 1/2017

The European Union (EU) has faced one of its biggest crises with the rise of population inflows through its Eastern and Southern neighbours as well as movements within the Union. In 2016, the main debate that dominated Europe was on restricting migration within and into the EU along with concerns and objections to the refugee quota systems and the sharing of the burden among member states. Turkey emerged as a ‘gate keeper’ in this crisis and has since been at the centre of debates because of the large Syrian refugee population in the country and billions of Euros it was promised to prevent refugees travelling to Europe. The Syrian crisis produced over 4.8 million refugees with over 2.8 million were based in Turkey by the end of 2016. Turkey with its generous support for Syrian refugees has been confirmed as a ‘country of security’. This shadows the darker side of affairs as the very same country has also produced millions of asylum seekers since the 1980 military coup. Current circumstances and fresh evidence indicate that there will be more EU bound refugees coming through and from Turkey.

E-commerce has dramatically changed the way customers and organizations behave and function today. Nevertheless, ensuring customer loyalty in online mediums is a challenging task. Extant literature suggests various factors that affect customers’ online loyalty intentions including online privacy, which has been an understated concept. Thus, it is critical to investigate the effect of online privacy on e-loyalty intentions. Studies have also mentioned that customers’ attitudes and behaviors in online might be affected by country and culture specific characteristics. Therefore, our study examines the relationship between online privacy and e-loyalty intentions in the context of two countries with limited e-commerce use, Turkey and Russia. Findings based on data collected from 325 participants confirm an indirect relationship between online privacy and e-loyalty intentions through e-satisfaction while online privacy - esatisfaction association has been found to be stronger in Russia than Turkey. Our study further discusses theoretical and practical implications.

Gorsium was the only site inside the province, from where many gems became known and everyone from excavation. These settlements were not far from each other, nevertheless the differences in the chronological sequence, in the thematic and in the craftsmanship of the gems are significant. The investigation of these differences brought the following results

Észrevételek a kelet-ázsiai régió történeti-kulturális megközelítéséhez

Author(s): Pal Koudela / Language(s): Hungarian / Issue: 3/2018

It is a difficult task to find the balance in compiling different historical, cultural, religious, economic, political and even geographical components of a possible indicator to find the boundaries of a greater region. Many ideas exist about East Asia as a landscape or a region, and perhaps the most well-known is the historical concept of the Sinosphere. Th is mental formation is broadly built on historically developed cultural elements and the dominance of China. An additional characteristic is the presumed existence of, and the one-way functioning of, the interrelatedness between historical states as individual players. In this essay we do not try to define a precise macro region, but make remarks on some important details of these cultural and historical elements, the concepts on which the region is built. Th e cognitive superstructure begins to fall apart if these details are examined closely. We focus on the historical concept of a politically organised interdependency and vulnerability, and emphasise its ideological origins in China. Agro-economic features and the development of common rice cultivation – despite huge geographical disparities – are also discussed. Language, religious diff erences (e.g. the role of Confucianism and Shinto) as well as economic networks, their historical and current relevance (e.g. the Bamboo network or the Japanese Zaibatsu) and other social factors are also the subjects of our analysis.
