For the whole world, the COVID-19 pandemic is a risk situation. All domains of activity are certainly affected by isolation and social distancing measures. Each social field is differently affected, but the Education sector is facing major challenges for teachers, students and institutional managers. In Romania, school activities have been suspended starting 12 March and there is a possibility to reopen them in September. Until then, all activity has been transferred online. In our case study, we examined a school from a disadvantaged part of the country, which is included in a predefined project called “Sustainable social and educational integration through sports activities”. The project takes place at the National University of Physical Education and Sport, Bucharest, Romania, in partnership with the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences. The objective of the project is to facilitate the educational and social integration of 2600 children at risk of social exclusion, selected from the 8 development regions of the country, through integrated activities based on sport. During school closure in the spring of 2020 (due to the COVID-19 pandemic), the situation for School no. 67, grades 5-8 (a sample that is in the project, mainly Roma population), is as follows: only 3 students have laptops, 2 students have personal computers, and 30 students have smartphones. Out of all 67, 35 communicate online, but 32 do not. The communication methods used for students with no online access include worksheets sent by regular mail, messages sent to keypad phones and talking using the landline."

The Europe 2021 strategy's goal is smart, sustainable and inclusive growth. In a knowledge-based society, key competences in the form of knowledge, skills and attitudes appropriate to each context have, a fundamental role. A key competence for lifelong learning is digital competence. In any field of activity, obtaining relevant and current information positively influences decisions taken by organizations, information being considered as the fourth resource, more important than the classical ones (work, nature, capital). Informations as resources generated through processes of knowledge and innovation are potentially unlimited, develop progressively and cumulatively, have an extremely fast growth rate; they multiply by dissemination. The paper aims to present the impact of technology evolution in the educational environment in Romania

Recent developments in response to the Covid-19 pandemic have had a substantial impact on students, teachers and content delivery modes around the globe. This paper reports the efforts of the University of Tetovo (UT) in North Macedonia (NM) and Banat’s USAMVB University “King Michael I of Romania” to find rapid and efficient means of switching from direct to remote course delivery while maintaining effective communication. Acknowledging that little space was available for training teachers and learners to prepare for such rapid changes, this study examines how students responded. Applying exploratory research methods, the paper offers a preliminary analysis of the difficulties that learners faced in shifting to online presentation. Qualitative data was collected using student interviews and content analysis (Silverman, 2005) was applied to identify themes, biases and meaning. Convenience sampling among enrolled students in the academic year 2020/2021 at both universities identified a non-random sample of 16 students. The findings of the study revealed that participants faced many difficulties in their venture; however, using various strategies, effective planning and organization, they managed to a certain extent to overcome this situation.

The most important feature that distinguishes the tourism sector from many sectors is that it has a labor-intensive structure. Therefore, the knowledge and skills of those working in this sector are important for the competitiveness of businesses. In this direction, tourism education curricula are developed on a practical basis. During the pandemic, the functioning of the tourism industry has come to a complete halt, so education has been moved to digital platforms. In this process, many application-based courses were suspended and these courses were started to be carried out on digital platforms. The aim of this study is to evaluate the views of students who receive tourism education in the pandemic process towards distance learning. The action research technique, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the study. Action research is a method actively used by educators who take the role of researchers to systematically and scientifically obtain information and develop applications in various fields of education. The sample of the study consists of 24 students studying tourism in the 2020-2021 academic years. The research data were collected using a semi-structured interview technique. As a result of the research, while the students expressed positive opinions about distance learning, they stated that they lacked the application aspect, which is a necessity of tourism education. In addition, with the statements put forward, it is concluded that students improve themselves by participating in seminars and trainings with distance learning methods in many different countries in the pandemic process. Among the problems experienced, students stated that there is a lack of infrastructure.

The study aims to investigate the ethical dilemmas specific to the teaching activity carried out in the context of the pandemic situation generated by COVID 19. We conducted some qualitative research with university professors who work at Gheorghe Asachi Technical University. From a methodological point of view, we selected the opinion questionnaire and the group interview as ways to gather information. We chose this way of working because the topic we treated is not easy and is more suitable for qualitative approaches. The group consisted of 29 teachers, who participated in the two organized group interviews and answered the proposed questionnaire.

The story as a possible solution to the problems faced by preschoolers and the adults around them represents the premise of using storytelling and digital storytelling at preschool age (and beyond). Recurring themes or particular contexts are exposed, through these techniques, anchoring fictional characters in fantastic worlds, mirroring the real plan. Ideas, feelings, character traits, elements of verbal, nonverbal and paraverbal expressiveness, as well as images/photos, animations, music, audio/video recordings, special effects, etc. facilitates the literacy of preschoolers, including in its digital version. The purpose of this paper is to relate these realities from the preschool universe, where through storytelling and digital storytelling, on the one hand, topics of interest are brought to the attention of children and, on the other hand, preschoolers exercise the role of active listener and even storyteller.

In context of pandemic crisis, the emergency remote teaching (ERT) process raised a multitude of problems for institutions, teachers, and students, led the author to design a model for evaluating teaching and evaluation processes. In our previous studies, we developed a model for the evaluation system called the learning analytics and evaluation model (LAEM). We also validated a software instrument we designed called the EvalMathI system, which is to be used in the evaluation system and was developed and tested during the pandemic. For optimization of the evaluation process was accomplished by including and integrating the dashboard model in a responsive panel. In this paper, we analyse the possibilities to complete our learning analytics system with a sensor-supported component. Also, we identify which sensor technologies can be used in a more suited manner. Sensor technologies have been adapted for various domains, such as healthcare, and education. The proposed model component can be used to represent the capabilities of current learning analytic system and provide a basis for the future development.

The modern world is characterized by a significant dynamization and complication of ongoing international processes and a historical transformation - a transition from a unipolar to a multipolar world, i.e. the emergence of other key players, having their own interests and resources, and creating conditions for a growing role and influence on world processes. Southeastern Europe is one of the most dynamic regions as an intersection of geostrategic, geopolitical and geoenergy interests. The dynamics of processes in the countries of South-Eastern Europe are characterized by two trends: defocusing of regional development and growing risks of regional instability; turning nationalism into an increasingly real alternative to European integration. The reasons for these trends can be related to external interests/factors, the manifestation of which is expressed in the search and confirmation of spheres of influence - both in relation to the countries as a whole, and through political and social groups within the countries. Shared sustainability has aspects that cover different areas of public life – political, economic and social. The political aspect of the shared resilience of Southeast Europe includes ensuring national security, which is possible by achieving long-term political stability in the SEE region, ensuring human rights, good governance and the rule of law by supporting democracy and collective efforts to fight with organized crime, terrorism and illegal trafficking in people, drugs and radioactive materials, creating a spirit of good neighborliness by expanding cooperation with civil society. The economic aspect combines the need to achieve optimal conditions for the development of the Bulgarian economy by expanding cooperation in terms of support for the functioning of a market economy, construction and modernization of the transport, energy and communication infrastructure and diversification of the energy market. The socio-cultural aspect is expressed in work to strengthen administrative potential and good governance, making efforts to overcome poverty, protect the environment, promote people-to-people contacts, develop cultural, educational and scientific exchanges. The development of the relations of the Republic of Bulgaria with the countries of South-Eastern Europe is of strategic importance not only for Bulgaria and the region. The shared sustainability of South-Eastern Europe should be seen as an important factor in achieving integration in the European continent as a whole.

This article is a literature review on the main changes in education, caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. The lockdown and the social restrictions imposed the transition from classical, face-to-face, to online education, increase in the use of techonology in education, spreading of online courses. Digital inequalities, appropriateness of some distance learning methods for pupils, the issues caused by medical conditions of students and their family members represented other challenges addressed to the educational system. Some scholars stated that the coronavirus has created “a set of unprecedented natural experiments”. What can we learn from this crisis? Which are the benefits and which are the weaknesses of the educational system the pandemic has shown? What changes will remain in education after the Covid pandemic? Did these changes generate progress, stagnation or regression in the educational system? These are some of the questions we set out to answer.
