The new work „Panic Book“ by Nemanja Nikolic is based on a cross-section of the artist's previous interest in the medium of drawing, animation and film, and the approach characteristic of using, combining, reconstructing different contents and visual references into new narratives. The current series of hundreds of drawings has been made on pages of books from social and political thought in the former Yugoslavia. Scenes of escape, mass panic and fear from various films by Alfred Hitchcock, taking place on the background of theoretical reflection on the machinations of socialist organization and the development of Yugoslav society, become subtle mataphoric components of new socio-political circumstances on the territory of the former common state. Nemanj's work opens numerous questions and topics on post-conflict and transitional reality, from the tendencies of historical revisionism to the position of an ordinary man and his everyday existence in the tightening of economics and other crises, which we as societies face.
