This review by the literary critic Georgi N. Nikolov presents the new monograph of Prof. Dr. Lachezar Georgiev The Portuguese book in Bulgaria: Publishers, authors, titles. Bulgarian writers and scholars on the subject of Portugal. This monograph was published by the “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” University Publishing House in 2021 with ISBN 978-619-208-239-0. It includes a summary in English and an extensive summary in Portuguese. It also includes illustrations prepared by the author of the book. Prof. Lachezar Georgiev’s in-depth analyzes of the books of Portuguese writers published in Bulgaria are noted, among which are: the classic writers Camilo Castelo Branco and Esade Queiroz; of contemporary authors such as Maria Theresa Maya Gonzalez and the modernist novelists José Samarago, João Aguiar, Mariode Carvalho, José Rodríguez Santos, Antonio Lobu Antunes, José Cardoso Pires, Fernando Campus, Giuseppe Risu Direitinho, Dulce Maria Cardozo; the Portuguese poets Fernando Pessoa, José Manuel Mendes and José Georges Letria, as well as the documentary works of Miguel Torga, Joao Mira Gomesand Luis Gonzaga Ferreira.
