THE CONTEMPORARY MIGRATION PHENOMENON AND SOCIETAL SECURITY IN ROMANIA
This paper proposes to analyze three dimensions of the migration phenomenon registered in the last 20 years in Romania with effects on the social security. One of them addresses the perspective of Romania as a transition country for emigrants coming from countries in conflict that were targeting Western Europe. The second dimension is that of Romania as the emigration wave of its own population to countries with developed economies in Western Europe. The third dimension captures Romania’s need to "import" foreign labor to replace its own lost by emigration.
