The paper is a conference report. Young Slavists meet each other every year at the Polyslav conference. The previous meeting took place in Kiev and was organized by the Institute of Philology of the Taras Shevchenko National University in Kiev (Department of the Modern Ukrainian Language). Young linguists from 11 countries presented 68 reports associated with Slavic languages. The reports were related to almost all areas of linguistics.

The 11th Bratislava Global Security Forum, taking place in Slovakia on 15-17 April 2016 contributed to shaping of regional, European and wider transatlantic policy agenda. A number of topics were scrutinised, such as NATO's adaption ahead of the 2016 Warsaw Summit; rising concerns about eroding political cohesion in Europe with the upcoming UK referendum and recent refugee crisis. Furthermore, discussions included strategies to stabilise the Middle East while fighting radicalism, as well as expectations of the Central European region regarding foreign and security policy of the new US Administration. The Forum's highlights included speeches by Ursula von der Leyen, Minister of Defence of the Federal Republic of Germany and Madeleine Albright, former U.S. Secretary of State, Senator Christopher S. Murphy, Presidents Andrej Kiska and President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović. Over the past few years, GLOBSEC has risen to the premier foreign policy and security forum where hundreds of most influential experts from leading European and transatlantic think-tanks, academia, business leaders and politicians gather to look for responses to the most pressing security challenges.

On the 6th and 7th of April 2016, the Faculty of Political Science and International Relations of Matej Bel University hosted an international conference organised within the framework of the Jean Monnet European Research Network entitled Identity, Culture, and Multilingualism Exchanges (EUROMEC). In times of identity crisis in the European Union, the conference aimed to analyse situations, perceptions, attitudes and activities of the citizens of the European Union with respect to identity dynamics and exploration of the bottom-up community building. It also aimed at analysing the impact of policies, programmes, cultural, educational, social, economic, geopolitical, and geo-economics activities of the European institutions on the identity mechanisms of the top-down identity building.

The Faculty of Arts and Letters of the University of Stendhal in Grenoble undertook the organization of events promoting Polish literature in France. In autumn 2015 an international conference Polish citizen of the world. Polish writers-travelers. The conference organizers invited for this occasion researchers from the universities of France, Belgium and Poland, who presented creative silhouettes of writers such as R. Kapuścinski, A. Stasiuk, Z. Herbert, S.I. Witkiewicz, O. Tokarczuk. The conference was accompanied by meetings with writers, an exhibition entitled L’oeuvre de Jerzy Giedroyc. “Culture” et sesréalisations, the presentation of books on Polish literature issued in France.
