Between 13 and 14 September 2018, the European Probation Confederation (CEP) and the West University of Timisoara (UVT) – Faculty of Sociology and Psychology, Department of Social Work organized the 7th edition of the International Conference Multidisciplinary Perspectives in the Qausi-Coercive Treatment of Offenders – SPECTO. The International Conference SPECTO, whose promoter since the first 2009 edition is Prof. Univ. Dr. Mihaela Alida Tomiță, has become an expected meeting with much interest both by people working in academia and also by practitioners, civil society representatives, social experts and the general public.

The International Conference “De l’Ouest à l’Est: Métamorphoses des Discours en Europe”/“From West to East: Metamorphoses of Discourses in Europe”, took place in Bucharest on 24-25 October 2019. The Conference was organised by the University of Bucharest and the Institute of Sociology of the Romanian Academy, under the aegis of the Observatory on Discourses and Counter-Discourses related to the European Construction (France) and was supported by The Regional Francophone Centre of Advances Research in Social Sciences (CEREFREA) in Bucharest. More than 60 participants from 10 countries participated to the debates related to the European discourse transformation within an interdisciplinary approach.

On Friday, November 15, 2019, at „Dimitrie Gusti” Council Hall, Faculty of Sociology and Social Assistance, the University of Bucharest, was held the debate „Myths, falsehoods, amnesia. A critical introduction to the history of the Gustian school”, organized by the Research Institute of the University of Bucharest at the initative of Zoltán Rostás and Ionuț Butoi. The participants were contributors and collaborators of the Gusti Cooperative team, such as Dumitru Sandu, Theodora-Eliza Văcărescu, Matei Costinescu, Antonio Momoc, Călin Cotoi, Irina Nastasa-Matei, Marian Zulean and others. The debate intended to interrogate both the way in which the image of the Gustian school was built by its members, the way it was reintegrated into the scientific and cultural circuit during the communist period, and how it is discussed today. This paper proposes a summary of the debate, highlighting the main ideas discussed by the participants.

The Solwodi Romania Association is part of an non-governmental international network (Solidarity with Women in Distress) aimed at supporting women victims of domestic violence and trafficking in human beings. In 2010 the Solwodi Romania organization celebrated a decade of activity and, on this occasion, hosted the event “10 Years Together”, held on November 21 at the National Library of Romania in Bucharest. The manifestation debuted with a statement, supported by the association`s director, followed by the launch of the book: Domestic violence. Theoretical aspects – signed by the specialists of the Solwodi team. In the second part of the event, a scientific plenary session took place, where the participants had the opportunity to hear and debate topical communications related to domestic violence. At the end of the day, the director of the organization expressed gratitude and confidence in the efforts that Solwodi Romania Association will make, in the future, to support the victims of domestic violence and human trafficking. Approximately 90 participants, beneficiaries of the association's programs, specialists representing child protection services, local authorities, consular services, educational and research institutions, non-governmental organizations and of course, members of civil society, took part in the event.##plugins.themes.academic_pro.article.details##
