Dr. Mićo Delić rođen je 1935. godine u Bugaru kod Bihaća, a podrijetlom je iz Like. Osnovnu i srednju školu, oglednu učiteljsku školu, završio je u Bihaću 1955. godine. Kao učitelj radio je četiri godine u Bosanskoj krajini i Hrvatskom zagorju, do 1960. godine, kada upisuje na Filozofskom fakultetu u Stjepan Babić, Tvorba riječi u hrvatskom književ¬nom jeziku, Zagreb 1986, str. 440. Naprečac i prerano - kako se to obično dešava izuzetno dinamičnim ljudima - iz naše sredine otišao je divan drug, neumorni javni radnik i istaknuti naučnik dr Nikola Babić. Poginuo je 18. novembra 1978. u saobraćajnoj nesreći na pragu svoje 53-će godine života, u naponu snage, ne dospjevši da ostvari mnoge predviđene naučne projekte i lične planove.

W dniu 11 lutego 2022 roku niemal o tej samej porze na dwóch krańcach Polski odbywały się uroczystości pogrzebowe dwóch wybitnych polskich językoznawców. Byli bardzo różni, rzekłbyś, tak odlegli od siebie, jak różne i wzajemnie odległe są Lublin i Poznań, miasta, o których tutaj mowa. Ale – poza zamiłowaniem do lingwistyki i zgłębiania tajników polszczyzny – na pewno łączyło ich jeszcze jedno: obaj byli członkami honorowymi Towarzystwa Miłośników Języka Polskiego i członkami rady naukowej naszego czasopisma. Wiadomość o ich odejściu z ogromnym smutkiem przyjęła nasza redakcja, przyjął Zarząd Główny TMJP, przyjęło całe, nie tylko polonistyczne, środowisko językoznawcze.

Akademik prof. dr Branislav Đurdev je umro u Novom Sađu 26. februara 1993. godine. Sahranjen je u Sremskim Karlovcima, mjestu gdje se rodio prije devedeset godina, tačnije 4. avgusta 1908. godine.

Danas, nakon što je “velika kosačica” prerano i nenadano odnijela akademika Marka Sunjića, čija sadržajna biografija je ispunjena uspješnom naučno-nastavnom aktivnošću, društvenim funkcijama i priznanjima, onima koji su ga izbliže poznavali ostaje da konstatiraju - kako to nedavno reče jedan njegov uvaženi kolega - da je samozatajni profesor iz ovog života i našeg vidokruga ipak otišao kao nepoznanica. Uistinu: biti toliko dugo prisutan u naučnom i javnom životu, biti gotovo pola stoljeća neprestano izložen pogledima i procjenama a nakon svega otići kao nepoznanica, može samo osoba koja je umjeće življenja od početka do kraja - nekom antičkom manirom - prispodobila umjeću umiranja.

Veče sjećanja na nedavno preminulog (4. 9. 1998. godine), eminentnog kulturnog radnika i istraživača kulturne i političke historije Bosne i Hercegovine Ristu Besarovića znakovito je iz, barem, dva razloga. SPKD “Prosvjeta” - Sarajevo i Muzej književnosti i pozorišne umjetnosti na dostojanstven način iskazali su pomen jednoj ličnosti koja je i prezimenom i imenom, a ponajviše svojim djelom, zaslužila da mu se izraze riječi priznanja i zahvalnosti za ono što je plodnim i stvaralačkim radom ostavio iza sebe kao neprolazan trag ovozemaljskog prolaznog bitisanja.

Pierwsi wysłannicy zaczęli wracać z wyprawy w 1982 roku. Opowiadali dziwne rzeczy. Podobno jest tam taka sala z długim stołem, gdzie co jakiś czas kadra akademicka i studenci ubrani uroczyście zbierają się, aby zjeść wspólną kolację. Zwą to high table. Były i inne budzące zdumienie fakty. Zbieraliśmy się po zmroku (albo i przed, i tak było ciemno), aby słuchać jak bajają. W końcu każdy wyjazd i powrót z tamtego świata stanowił wówczas nie lada wydarzenie. Kręciliśmy z niedowierzaniem głową. Niby jak, czy miałbym jadać co jakiś czas kolację z dyrektorem swojego instytutu, który właśnie wyrzucił mnie z pracy za poglądy polityczne? I gdzie — w klubie PAN-owskim na poddaszu, otwartym do 15.00, przy kanapce z żółtym serem?

On 7 February 2022, Professor Yi Lijun passed away in Beijing. She was the most outstanding Chinese Polish scholar, and was known as the ambassador of Polish literature in China. She was closely linked with the University of Gdańsk. In 2007, she received an honorary doctorate from the University, and she was a member of the Academic Council of the Centre for East Asian Studies at the University of Gdańskand of the scholarly bi-annual journal Gdańsk East Asian Studies. Yi Lijun was born on 4 December 1934 in the Huang Gang administrative district of Hu Bei Province. She studied in the Department of Chinese Language and Literature at Wuhan University, and studied Polish at the University of Warsaw from 1954 to 1960. After returning to China, Yi Lijun worked for two years as a journalist for Radio Beijing. In 1962, she started work at Beijing Foreign Studies University, where she remained to the end of her academic career. For many years, she was director of the Department of Polish Language in the Faculty of European Languages of BFSU. She taught several generations of Chinese Polish scholars, who today work at universities, in foreign trade, in culture, in the tourist industry, and in diplomacy. She contributed hugely to the cause of Polish culture in China as a translator, scholar, and promoter of Polish literature. She translated into Chinese the writings of over forty Polish authors of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Her list of publications includes more than seventy works in prose and verse, including: Adam Mickiewicz’s Dziady (Forefathers’ Eve), parts III and IV; Henryk Sienkiewicz’s Krzyżacy (The Knights of the Cross), Ogniem i mieczem (With Fire and Sword ), and Potop (The Deluge); Witold Gombrowicz’s Ferdydurke; Olga Tokarczuk’s Prawiek i inne czasy (Primeval and Other Times) and Dom dzienny, dom nocny (House of Day, House of Night); and Wybór klechd i baśni polskich. She also brought to Chinese readers poems by Polish winners of the Nobel Prize, Czesław Miłosz and Wisława Szymborska, and also those of many other poets. Her publications include scores of articles on Polish writers. She edited more than 300 entries on Polish writers and Polish literature for Chinese encyclopedias. Professor Yi Lijun received many Polish state awards in recognition of her achievements, including the Medal for Services to Polish Culture – Gloria Artis, the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland, and the Medal of the Commission for National Education.

On the night of 16–17 March 2022, in Gdańsk, Professor Taduesz Dmochowski died unexpectedly. Political scientist, professor of the University of Gdańsk, for many years Dean of the UG Faculty of Social Sciences, Professor Dmochowski was a member of the Academic Council of the Centre for East Asian Studies at the University of Gdańsk and of the scholarly bi-annual journal Gdańsk East Asian Studies. Tadeusz Dmochowski was born on 9 September 1962 in Gdańsk. In 1981, he began to study history at the Humanities Faculty of the University of Gdańsk. After completing his studies, he worked for several years at the Medical High School, part of the M. Słaby Medical Schools Group No. 1 in Gdańsk. From October 1996, he worked in the UG Faculty of Social Sciences. In 1998, he received a doctorate in the Humanities in the field of political science, and in 2010, he received his post-doctoral degree (habilitacja) in the Humanities in the field of political science for his dissertation Radziecko-chińskie stosunki polityczne po śmierci Mao Zedonga (Soviet-Chinese Political Relations since the Death of Mao Zedong). Professor Dmochowski was active in creating the Institute of Political Science from its very beginnings; currently it is one of the seven institutes in the UG Faculty of Social Sciences. For many years, he was Vice-Director of the Institute of Political Science responsible for teaching affairs (2002–2012); subsequently (2012–2016), he was Director of the Institute of Political Science. In 2016, he was elected Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, a position he held until his death. His whole career was bound up with the University of Gdańsk, his alma mater. He helped to train many generations of political scientists. He was a member of the Committee for Social Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences (from 2015) and he was a member of the central governing body of the Polish Association of Political Sciences. He was author of several books, dozens of academic articles, and many chapters in multi-author books. His books relate to East Asia. In 2020, the President of Poland awarded him the Silver Cross of Merit for his academic work.
