F.G. Klopstock’s religious poetry, one of the most significant German poetsromanticists of the end of the XVIII th century is considered in the article. The comparative characteristics of the Catholic Latin text «Stabat Mater» and its German translation «Jesus Christus schwebt am Kreuze», made by F. G. Klopstock is given. Franz Schubert’s German «Stabat Mater» is characterized.

Muslims of the South Slavic area, especially those of the Slavic origin, language and customs, after the withdrawal of the Ottoman administration from the Balkan Peninsula in the 19th and early 20th century, found themselves in a dilemma - the West or the East, the nation or the religion. While trying to lead them to the decision, young Balkan national states, including the Kingdom of Serbia and its political, cultural and intellectual elite, began with the general cultural, political and social project known as “the nationalization of Muslims”, considering this population to be a part of their own national being connected to it by a common language and ethnical background. Muslims of the Slavic origin lived mostly in Bosnia and Herzegovina which since 1878 was under the Austro-Hungarian authorities that tried to create by their own means an integrated nation named “Bosniaks”. Since political activities from Serbia were forbidden at that time in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Serbian side carried out it’s breakthrough towards Muslims primarily through culture, especially literature and literary magazines. In that way, the Serbian literature of the second half of the 19th century played a significant role in national efforts among Bosnian Muslims, especially among educated youth who called themselves Serbs of the Muslim faith.

Travel writings of Dubrovnik published in Delo and Brankovo kolo at the turn of the 19th into the 20th century are designed as an informative guide through the past and the present times of the city of St. Blaise. Interweaving the historical reminiscences and images of modem Dubrovnik, travel writes indirectly indicate that the present is in itself a mirror of the past and that the entire tradition of Dubrovnik is an important part of the historical memory of the Serbian people.

In the essay, in the form of scientific material are described and prepared for printing eight unpublished letters by Lazar Tomanovic (1845-1932), that the manuscript department of Matica Srpska, and sent to Novi Sad in the period between 1878 and 1901, to serbian writer Aleksandar Sandic (1836-1908), a longtime member of Matica Srpska, historian, author, cultural worker and politician, professor of serbian language in the serbian gymnasium in Novi Sad. From the letters we find out details about Tomanović intensive cooperation and contacts with Novi Sad literary and intellectual elite, and after the completion of training and his returning to Herceg Novi in 1874, and then departure to Cetinje in 1888, where he worked for important jobs in the state administration of Montenegro all by the end of professional career.

Стваралаштво Викентија Ракића (1750-1818), Константина Маринковића (1784-1844) и Милована Видаковића (1780-1841) несумњиво припада вредносном врху епског песништва српског предромантизма. Управо захваљујући даровитости тројице поменутих сочинитеља, религиозни епови су постали један од најпопуларнијих жанрова у периоду од краја 18. до средине 19. века. Међутим, упоредна анализа спискова претплатника на предро- мантичка житија во стихи, наводи нас на закључак да је изненађујуће велико интересовање пренумераната привукло дело готово анонимног аутора Арсенија Векецког (1773-1842), под насловом Краткоје изјасненије Господских и БоГородичних некоторих праздников (Векецки 1840).

In the article it is indicated that Poles became interested in Greece after the fall and partitions of the Polish Republic in 1795. The political situation prevailing then in Europe disposed both sides to co-operate. There were plans to establish a Polish-Greek Republic.In the 20’s of the 19th century Poles took part in the Greeks' uprising against Turkish rule whose aim was national independence. Some of them died in July 1822 in the battle of Peta; several others took part in the uprising in other Greek territories. Poles who died in Greece were buried in the Heroes Cemetery in Mesolongion. Some Poles took part in the uprising in Crete in 1866; more participated in the Greek-Turkish war in 1897. Zygmunt Mineyko, one of the most outstanding representatives of the Polish emigration to that country, worked then in the Greek military staff. In Rethimnon there is also a Catholic cemetery where Poles were buried who took part in supervising the cease-fire between the Greek and Turkish populations in 1897-1906.Poles' participation in the Greek resistance movement during World War II was a continuation of Polish interest in Greece and Greek struggle to keep their national identity.
