Chimerical Groups in School as a Social and Educational Phenomenon

Author(s): Nikolay Tsankov,Veska Guyviiska / Language(s): English Issue: 4/2017

The problem discussed is related to the need for clear socio-pedagogical parameters of (criminal groups) gangs in schools. The different interpretations link them to difficult children, youth subcultures, and street gangs while chimerical groups are a possible conceptual projection on them. We are attempting at a socio-pedagogical reading of a community of children and adolescents with deviant behavior but not juvenile offenders, which makes us face legal terms and delinquent behavior. A chimerical group of dealers, pimps, prostitutes and other subjects with deviant behavior at school imitates the behavior of criminal groups in society, borrowing mechanisms and means and also creating their own social networks. Unlike real life criminal groups, though, chimerical groups are a subject of education activities as a function of the school institution. The most timely the pedagogical intervention of the school institution (not only as socializing and training), the greater the chances these children and adolescents’ lives to be saved and their personality preserved.

Преживяването на удоволствие – фактор за благополучие в обучението по биология

Author(s): Nina Gerdzhikova / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 5/2017

The communication in the classroom could be analyzed from different points of view – effectiveness of learning and instruction, emotional and social development of pupils, social inequality and so on. The present research was designed to investigate the relationships of the mother’s education to  the general patterns of pupil enjoyment regarding their classroom experience. It was concluded that there aren‘t significant differences between pupils based on the social marker mother’s education. Understanding the family background and its influence upon the education is the very consequential task for the policy makers. Along with this, the experience of pleasure from pupils can be defined as an influential dimension of the effectiveness of learning and instruction in the school.Although there are not found consistently significant differences between the  assessments of the statements on the scale “enjoyment“, developed by the group of German researchers, it is obvious that the organizing strategies of teaching determine pupil’s feelings during the classroom interaction.

Иновации в борбата с туморни образувания – лечение чрез брахитерапия

Author(s): Georgi Varbanov,Radostin Mihaylov,Denitsa Simeonova,Yordanka Dimitrova Eneva,Paraskev Stoyanov / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 3/2018

This report shows one of the contemporary methods of malignant neoplasms’ treatment – brachytherapy. Solid or liquid radioactive sources are used. Brachytherapy is a type of intercellular radiotherapy in which the source of radioactive energy is placed near the organ or directly in it. The ionizing energy destroys the structure of DNA and thus hinders cell division. During the treatment, specially targeted radiation is delivered to the tumor without any damages to the surrounding tissues and organs. The advantage of brachytherapy, compared to EBRT is that the damaged cells are fewer. In brachytherapy, radioactive materials are implanted in the form of seeds or liquids via feeder. The radioactive seeds consist of a titanium capsule containing a redioactive element 125I or 192Ir and a metal radiographic marker for tracking the capsule. Brachytherapy is used for treatment of cancer of the prostate, vagina, cervix, breast, skin, esophagus, face and neck, gallbladder, etc. In Bulgaria, brachytherapy is practiced in Sofia, Stara Zagora, Shumen and Veliko Tarnovo. In the oncology center in Shumen between 150 and 170 patients are treated with brachytherapy every year which is 1/6 of all patients, being treated in the center.

The ways of integration of children with hearing impairment in mainstream schools are the object of discussion in this article. The main thesis advocated in the content is the importance of adequate needs assessment of hearing-impaired children, the application of an individual approach in education that is oriented not only to children with hearing impairment but also to all children with SEN, as well and to all students in the class. The theory of multiple intelligence offers a solid argument in this direction regarding registering the learning style for each child and his/her inclusion in structured group activities that also stimulate social integration.

Mimesis i anthropos albo o przymusie naśladownictwa. Dawkins – Tarde – Girard

Author(s): Dobrosława Wężowicz-Ziółkowska / Language(s): Polish Issue: 19/2018

Memetics is one of contemporary, posthumanist theories of culture. It postulates that the fundamental mechanism of replicating non-genetic information is imitation (Dawkins) and thus social life and culture exist as a result of our minds’ susceptibility to the units of imitation, known as memes. This article presents a critical synthesis of the stance memeticians take on human mimetism, and through exploration of other concepts (philosophical, sociological, anthropological, psychological and neurobiological) reinforces memetics’ basic premise that human beings are mimetic animals.
