This is a presentation that aims to support a study of contemporary built sculpture, seen as experimental architecture that brings to the fore a form of prehistoric habitation and conceptually uses resignified archaeological methods. The essential and elementary plastic structures, the architectural context, the educational discourse, the archaeological methods, the restorer, all conceptually interfere in the creative process of contemporary post-minimal sculpture, of the sculpture as a place. We will soon find out the potentiality of these experimental and utopian manifestations of contemporary sculpture. These cultural positions still retain a significant portion of the modernist legacy: the ethical and aesthetic commitment to the world.

This study is intended to conduct a theoretical research ofRomanian design domain, relating to a wider context, that is art theory, and subsequently resorting to fundamental references. It relates to thestatus of the objects that are unique concerning the way they claim tobe essentially artworks. Throughout this article the concern fordefining a universe of objects is obvious, treated within the frameworkof object's existential conditions. From this point of view, thepreliminaries supporting its justification relate to Heidegger'sphilosophical concepts, also regarding the functionalist paradigm andultimately some references are made to symbolism and artisticexpression. As a natural continuity, the current state of modernproduced objects is associated with the development of thecontemporary society. In this stage, the design is treated separately intodistinct branches, outlining the particular situation of Romanian designthrough specific data and relevant examples.

This article aims to discuss issues related to plastic creationsto which "the principle of fertile moment" supported by Lessing isapplied. The German aesthetician considers that a sculptor alwayschooses from a number of points possible for "the on-going" of amovement, that unique moment in which the movement has not yetreached its peak deployment and especially for this reason, lets ourimagination run free. The ancient artist sought to give his art beautyand harmony. It was being sought in particular the decrease of slow,non-harmonic movements, of excessive gesture violence, respectively toalleviate the reflection of a suffering body, simultaneously underliningthose aspects of the figure that by compassion, hope and appreciationwould awaken in the viewer states of multifaceted artistic delight.Rendering the moment rich in meanings can be also seen in thetwentieth century art

Television and new media construct a type of trade with theiconic sign. To the image is assigned an effervescent power, so that itcan, under the pretext of illustrating, create a new perspective of theinformation-formation-seduction triad. The subjectivity of the image, caught between the liberty of re-seeing the collective show of societyand the responsibility of sight, can only be overcome through keeping abalance between the one who proposes the typology of the message (thejournalist) and the one who is decoding it (the viewer). The two areunited by the experience of seeing the same sample of reality and areseparated by the role of phenomenology of communication means andthe reception of visual language.

The Bistri a region is an old spring of Romanian culture, which generated along the years important artistic realizations, amongst which the wooden churches have a particular beauty andnoblesse since they are the place where the folkloric art mingles withthe civilized art.Close to Nasaud city, on the border between the villages Rebra andParva there has been centuries ago1 an Orthodox monastery for monksand a small wooden church with the feast of the Annunciation. Theicons from this monastery, among which the icon of our study, constitute proofs of creativity, constancy and continuity, proofs of ourfaith and values of spirituality and Christian sensitivity, because theypreserve constructive and decorative elements that can be found on theentire Romanian territory.

This study is a philosophical and theological journey in theimaging of the Genesis. It stops on the first day of creation, which is therichest in meanings and symbolic images as it reflects the creation of anenigmatic world, namely the spiritual world, the world of celestialhierarchies. The light is associated with the creation of angels, and theseparation of the light from the darkness is understood as theseparation of good angels from bad ones and, starting from here, anentire philosophy is developed. Starting from this theme, another ideadetaches, namely the imaging of the fall of angels or even thecoronation of Lucifer. The compositions depict extremely well thewestern medieval teachings, which were impregnated with Saint Augustine's train of thought and theology.

Just as gestures are unrepeatable in painting, so a print executed in the manner of the monotype is unique. Even though many artists who use traditional print techniques in their creation consider that “painting” a plate for later printing is nonsense, I am convinced that this unique combination between painting and printing techniques creates forms and textures impossible to achieve using another technique. The emancipation from the constraints of traditional techniques, and the return to the primary form of art can only be beneficial to the exploration of an inadequately exploited field in our country, professionally speaking.

The moment you utter it, the anguish in your mind has alreadybegun: size, form empty/full, centered/not centered, open/closed. Howabout the subject, the theme? Dot, line, mark, distortion, threedimensionalvolume, sound, etc.? Should it be the same as you did itbefore? Should I do it as I did it before, or as he did it? How about as theydid it? What should it be like? You just start thinking and asking yourselfif you have the appropriate materials or even the financial means. Areyou or are you not able to follow through with it and put your thoughtsinto action? Everything in your mind begins swirling and amalgamating, everything comes together on the same level, and then, everything comesapart up to the moment when you say ENOUGH! You finally decide tochoose among a size, a surface or a volume.

The present article,Columns and shrines. A personal semioticsfocuses on a few personal reflections regarding four personal artisticcreations. In the first part of the article I explain my appeal and fascination for thehuman body, subject and object in sculpture, confining the range of interestto the female body and the children body. I am interested in the artisticpotencies of the body, not in a classical approach, but especially in the bodyfragments that are no longer in a symbiotic connection with the entirepart. The second part focuses on the work that can integrate my concerns, under the generic name of shrines and columns. These pieces of workconverge from my meditations upon the threat on our speciesrepresented by distruction, or self-distruction, through variousmechanisms of body manipulation and by preventing our development. These are personal reflections, but with major social implications.

This article deals with issues connected with defining the libretto in the light of genre classification and the function that libretti perform as part of musical compositions. Libretti, which are marginalized by both literary theory and musicological research, are considered to be dependent texts even though most libretti are compositionally complete and can be analyzed by using the concepts of literary theory. At the same time, although the libretto is not an independent genre, it has its own subgenres which are identified based on the subject matter, function and structural properties (e.g. tragedy, comedy and farce).

The article deals with a New Understanding of nature and culture, which is being crystallized in the intellectual current defined by the name of post-humanities. The starting point for the analysis of work of art from the area of bioart – transgenic plant named Edunia, which is a part of a larger project Natural History of the Enigma. Edunia, which does not occur in nature but was created by the artist Eduardo Kac by means of specialists in the field of genetic engineering. A new form of life defined as plantimal shows a DNA expression of the artist included into decorative flowers of petunia. Rose petals of flowers are “interspersed” by dark red vessels the feature of which is the expression of Kac’s gene; this because the artist took care of that that his DNA was found just in the venation of the flower. In the article I present two interpretation paths of this work of bioart which, however, are not a sharp counterpoint to one another, but somewhat differently place accents between nature and culture in their mutual entanglements. One of these paths may be defined as an attempt at making others realise or reminding them about our evolutional species condition, while the other one as an attempt at treating nature as an important actor of the sociopolitical activities.
