The topic that the present article studies is a specific type of verb-centred compound nouns in English and Bulgarian, namely, the Verb + Noun pattern as in pickpocket and загоритенджера. The paper attempts to present a contrastive analysis with regard to the similarities and differences in the form and meaning of these combinations in the two languages. The analyzed compounds are also classified into thematic groups according to what they denote. This pattern is no longer productive in contemporary English and Bulgarian but some of these verb-centred compound nouns are still frequently used and have a specific stylistic effect.

The topic that the present article studies is the verbal category ‘imperative mood’, characteristic of all contemporary Slavic languages. The paper attempts to make a typological classification of Slavic imperative paradigms with regard to various distinctive criteria, defined in the course of the analysis. It investigates the level of unification and structural analogy; but at the same time it raises the question of formal-semantic asymmetry when the imperative forms find their grammatical realization in the nucleus of the modality. There has been an emphasis on the unique place which the Bulgarian language takes among other kindred languages in respect of the great diversity of analytical forms - a result of the specific intralinguistic changes. The concluding part of the study presents some of the recent tendencies in the functioning of Slavic imperatives.

In this publication a specific part of speech in Chinese is considered - so called measurment units or classifiers. We are going to make an attempt for juxtaposition with the quantifiers in Bulgarian, because of the necessity of more accurate translation between both languages (Chinese and Bulgarian), which will be helpful for the Bulgarians learning Chinese language too.

Using a corpus of dialogues from literary texts in Standard Bulgarian, I attempt to demonstrate that the wide range of meanings associated with the forms of perfect (inferential, evidential, experience among them) corresponds to a grammatical grid, where the lexical verb and its arguments are placed in specific slots. In other words, the Bulgarian perfect is considered as a complex grammatical category, incorporating not only the verbal form, but also several positions reflecting the speaker’s attitude and the pragmatic roles expressed in the sentence. This approach is made unique by the types of components, which determine the structure of the sentence as a whole. Among them are modal and interrogative adverbs, conjunctions introduced by quoting verbs and 1st / 2nd or 3rd person auxiliaries. The first section of this article deals with the actual state of the perfect in the area, from a diachronic and a synchronic perspective. Section 2 focuses on the presentation of data and the definition of a semantic map of the perfect in modem Bulgarian. Section 3 consists of an attempt to interpret the data discussed previously according to a theoretical framework. Conclusions are provided in section 4.

The paper presents the results of research on Germanism in the language of the most widely read newspapers in the Bosnian - speaking area of the Bosnian Krajina. These are the daily newspapers "Dnevni Avaz" and the weekly local newspapers "Krajina", "Moja Sana" and "Reprezent" (published between 2008 and 2020). The research was conducted on 8420 excerpted Germanisms. The main goal of this paper is to identify Germanisms, and to present their representation and distribution in regional newspapers. First, Germanisms were excerpted from the supraregional newspaper "Dnevni Avaz", which is the most widely read in Bosnian cities. Then the local newspapers of Bihać, Sanski Most and Velika Kladuša were taken into account. A separate corpus was compiled for each newspaper, which was then compared with other corpora in order to show the similarities and specifics of Germanism in different parts of the Bosnian Krajina. The result is a number of Germanisms specific to the Bosnian Krajina-speaking area.

Today's education is marked by the emergence of new technologies and media that are increasingly used both in life and in teaching. Given that children encounter the media in their earliest childhood, they need to be informed about media content as the media increasingly become an integral part of education. In order to achieve educational processes, it is necessary to integrate contemporary media in a traditional way of learning and teaching. We should strive to take advantage of all that 21st century technology offers and provides. Although this is a great challenge given the lack of media equipment of some schools and weak media competencies of teachers. The aim of the research was to show the importance of modern media in the teaching of the Croatian language and to show the level of education of primary school teachers who encounter the use of modern media in their work on a daily basis. The research was conducted in the form of a survey in which 86 primary school teachers from the territory of the Republic of Croatia participated. The results of the research prove that the use of modern media improves students' educational achievement in understanding teaching topics, but also that teachers lack necessary education regarding the use of media in the education system. The results also show that of the digital tools and platforms offered by Croatian publishers, teachers most often use the "Wordwall" and "e-sphere".

Universal values are constantly relevant. Recently, there has been an increase in the need for their everyday promotion in the teaching process. Children's literature is a special and important genre and plays a significant role in shaping the way young readers understand and perceive the world. Although literary works are not written exclusively for educational purposes, this is often attributed and highlighted as their primary function. Literary works intended for students in the classroom affirm certain values. The curriculum guidelines clearly indicate the desirable values that need to be developed in students. This paper will analyze the representation of values in prose literary texts found in textbooks for younger students. It is known that a certain number of texts have a larger number of values, which is why the dominant one in the text is selected.
