Poetika dhe profile

Poetika dhe profile

Author(s): Ag Apolloni / Language(s): Albanian / Issue: 12/2017

The Albanian literature of Macedonia has its tradition: starting with the renaissance writer Josif Bageri, it was consolidated with Murat Isaku, Abdylaziz Islami and Adem Gajtani, and it continues with Luan Starova, Kim Mehmeti, Resul Shabani, Xhabir Ahmeti, Lulzim Haziri, Salajdin Salihu, Lindita Ahmeti, Lindita Aliu, etc. All these writers have contributed on surviving of the Albanian literature in a country where Albanian language is not their official language. To illustrate the surviving of this literature we will analyze four of these writers (two novelists and two poets) who can be considered as representatives of the current Albanian literature in Macedonia, thanks to whom this literature has proved new literary poetics.

Poetika e Prennushit

Poetika e Prennushit

Author(s): Serafina Lajçi / Language(s): Albanian / Issue: 9/2016

The poetic collection Leaf and rose (Gjeth e lule, 1924) by Vinçenc Prennushi is a work influenced by Franciscan school. It is characterized by its idiomatic style. Although there is a similarity with the Gjergj Fishta, Prennushi style is more local and less dramatic. Starting from the title itself, this summary presents a subtle poet which articulates with poetic fluidity and a lyrical spirit his personal, religious and national motivations. Within the ideas that present his religious formation and his national stance, Prennushi displays a caution also to poetic form and structure, insisting on organizing its rhythm and verses. Following the pattern of the North poetry, but being unique in style and creative originality, Prennushi will articulate its poetic expression, driven by patriotic and religious inspiration.

Poetika e Rexhep Qosjes

Author(s): Feride Papleka / Language(s): Albanian / Issue: 8/2016

Looking at the totality of Qosja’s works, we could say that he was born for this kind of heteroclite writing. After essays and critical studies he wrote the first novel, after the novel he wrote drama, after the drama he wrote the biographies of some authors, the literary history, and again he turned back to fiction, which to him seems to bean everlasting love. His unique literary style is having a great impact on the Albanian readers.

Poezia e Gasper Palit

Author(s): Laura Smaqi / Language(s): Albanian / Issue: 01-02/2016

Gasper Pali, is one of the authors who were not “denied” by official criticism during the second half of the last century, there were some articles about him, though not numerous. However, because his work was not published frequently and was absent in school anthologies, his remained a little known or unknown by the readers. In this paper we have combined the historical look - reflecting the treatment that was made to the author in the 1945-1990 studies - with the interpretation of some poet's poems. Pali belongs to that group of authors who had the bad luck to have a short life, a modest volume poem, distributed to the press organs and left in the script, but with values noted at the time of publication. Not rarely Gasper Pali's poems are related to Migjeni's poetry, and he was considered an author who could not reach the levels of Migjeni, and was not interested in social protests, but was focused only on his spiritual world. The two authors published their creations on the press pages without having the fortune to publish their poems in a book. When this happened as in the case of Migjeni, the work failed to communicate at that time (1936) with the reader. Pali's poetic image is unique and has its own favourite elements: twilight, shadows, skies, stars. Also visions and dreams have the main weight in his poetic vocabulary. His poetic universe is conquered by the vibrations. Numerous and continuous vibrations, a pulsation and waving that passes from the man to the space. Vibrations, sometimes as a wave, like heartbeat and pulsation, give the rhythm of poetry and transmit the extreme poet sensitivity. The poetic universe becomes one with the poet's heartbeat. Gasper Pali's poetry is one of the most interesting of the poetic creativity written in the 1930s and '40s. As an expression of a high sensitivity, of an introvert nature, this work should take its place in the history of Albanian poetry.

Receptimi kritik i romanit “Vuajtjet e Verterit të ri” në letërsinë shqipe

Receptimi kritik i romanit “Vuajtjet e Verterit të ri” në letërsinë shqipe

Author(s): Albulena Blakaj-Gashi / Language(s): Albanian / Issue: 9/2016

Albanian literary studies offer no critical assessments relating to the reception of Goethe's literary works on the literary works of the Albanians writers, which could serve as the basis for a concrete research of the evidence of the impact of Goethe in Albanian literature. This paper is concentrated on the dimension of critical reception, in order to explain more clearly the process of Goethe's influence in the literary creativity of certain Albanian authors, regarding ideas, topics, themes, characters, structure, etc. Goethe's literary work, especially “The Sorrows of Young Werther", but also "Faust", was translated and present quite early in our literature, taking the circumstances into account, of course. As in the rest of the world, these two books seem to have had a great impact on Albanian literature, especially when it was at the beginning of creation of the first novels.

Romani “Bijtë e askujt” dhe gjuha standarde

Author(s): Shefkije Islamaj / Language(s): Albanian / Issue: 45/2015

This paper aims to prove that the language of Rexhep Qosja’s novels is the standard language in terms not only of involvement, but also the creation of linguistic innovation needed for linguistic and artistic expression. The standardization of the language in the novel "Bijtë e askuj" is noticed at all levels, notably in spelling. However, in this novel, as well as in three other novels: “Vdekja më vjen prej syve të tillë” ("Death Comes From Such Eyes"), “Një dashuri dhe shtatë faje” ("One Love and Seven Sins") and “Nata është ditja jonë” ("The Night is Our Day"), this standard is not subject to the ingrained regularity, but is a processing tool and artistic revision of literary- linguistic object. In the novel there is distinguished the lexical-word formation creativity, which we appreciate with a particular interest not only as the author’s distinctive style, but as enrichment of standard Albanian language and, of generally, the Albanian neologism. This lexical layer becomes language identifier and style of the writer, not only in the literary work, but also in all of his creations, especially on the political, journalistic and polemical ones.

Romani “Përbindëshi” i Ismail Kadaresë

Author(s): Gëzim Aliu / Language(s): Albanian / Issue: 45/2015

The novel “Përbindëshi” ("The Monster") is a work in prose with a range of elements that make it interesting and modern. In this paper, through four interpretations, we concluded that this novel also stands within the scheme of socialist realism, but also avoids it; it depends on how you read it. Among the main features of the novel is the playing with political and social motives, playing with time (contemporary and Antiquity) and playing with narrative dialogues (novel resembles with tragedies of antiquity, though it does not end tragically, at least not for the couple Elena and Genti). All these elements make this novel readable even today, always taking into account its sustainable artistic level.

Rrëfimi dhe nuancat e tij në romanet e Agron Tufës

Rrëfimi dhe nuancat e tij në romanet e Agron Tufës

Author(s): Manjola Brahaj / Language(s): Albanian / Issue: 7/2016

This analysis treats the features, nuances and the different ways of narration in Agron Tufa novels. His novels are articulated as a prose with universal and archetypal ideas that shows to the literature and to the world the real face of our society, which have passed through individual and collective violence. In these novels we encounter a mysterious and a subterranean narration, concealed in the details, which serve to connect novel after novel in a symbolic and diabolical reality.

Rrëfimi për totalitarizmin

Author(s): Gëzim Aliu / Language(s): Albanian / Issue: 46/2016

Just like the novel "The Winter of Great Solitude", also the novel "The Concert at the end of Winter", is a literary work that treats a rupture with a great power, who yesterday was a great friend and today becomes a great enemy; in this case it is China that becomes the great enemy. Just like in the "Winter...", also in the "Concert..." rupture occurs because of ideological reasons; of course, Albania is a principled one, as in the case with the Soviets. Therefore, this novel, in a broad sense, respects the doctrine of socialist realism. But it is noteworthy mentioning the authorial courage to treat some delicate internal issues of totalitarian societies. Narrating on totalitarism is, in fact, the essence of this novel and could be “used” as a literary microscope by today’s reader to see, with the help of imagination, of course, deep in the developments of Albanian and Chinese societies at the times of left dictatorship.

Serafina Thopia de De Rada et Julie de la Nouvelle Héloïse de Rousseau

Author(s): Klara Kodra / Language(s): French / Issue: 01/2014

Author(s): Ag Apolloni / Language(s): Albanian / Issue: 8/2016

Seeing from a historical perspective of the development of satire, “The Regretful Resurrected” is the most beautiful and the most ornery satire of Albanian literature. In this novella Qosja tells with deep knowledge on narratology, so he is hidden behind the narrator, whereas the narratoris hidden behind the hero. They at the border take the sword of Skanderbeg, but another sword, sword of satire, kills in a double battle: against satirical characters and against political prototypes.

SHQIPJA SI GJUHË E VETË NATYRËS NË LIRIKËN E AZEM SHKRELIT

Author(s): Muharrem Jakupi / Language(s): Albanian / Issue: 44/2014

In Azem Shkreli’s extraordinary poem “Lyrics with rain", there is repeated ten times the word "shi" (eng.: rain) and also, there are found 38 words or metaphors that have in their composition the sound "sh" as a symbolic reflection of about quadruple of this word. Among these words with the sound "sh" in their composition are also included two toponyms from Kosova and two toponnyms from Albania. This type of structuring is made in order that the sound "sh" of the word “shi” be reflected also in three onomatopoeic words, semantically related, which are brought to designate the typical noise when it rains. Thus, apart from the word "shushurimë" (eng.: murmur), which seems to come from the sky, the lyrical ego asks rhetorically, if sylphs are "whistling" (alb.: pëshpëritin) ear to ear their secrets, or if eagles (alb.:shqiponjat) are "soughing" (alb.: fëshfërijnë) something in Albanian language (alb. shqip) to each other . So this murmurous "language" of nature in the rain, is imitated even linguistically through this density of the sound "sh", but in a way that after identifying it with the language of Albanian mythology beings, also be identified with the Albanian language (alb. Gjuhën shqipe) of the bird symbol of Albanians, a language that is spoken in all our native lands since ancientness. The syllogism of this poetic "reasoning" scheme, leads us to the conclusion that the Albanian language is the language of the eternal, and inalienable nature itself. In this way, poetry builds patriotic theme allegory through an extraordinary lyric, which, simultaneously, has as its thematic object, equally important, also the surface of "the beauty" and "the sublime" of Albanian natural landscape. All this sublime beauty, is organized also as a brilliance of "the seventh symphony of the rain", composed precisely, through Albanian language sounds and words.

SILENCE IN THE SEMANTICS OF EXPRESSIONS AND PHRASEOLOGIES IN ALBANIAN AND BULGARIAN LANGUAGE

SILENCE IN THE SEMANTICS OF EXPRESSIONS AND PHRASEOLOGIES IN ALBANIAN AND BULGARIAN LANGUAGE

Author(s): Dhimitri Bello,Anila Çepani / Language(s): English / Issue: 2/2015

Why we remain silent? What does the silence represent in the language and culture of the respective countries? This is a question that a part of the answer (because we can’t claim for an exhaustive definition about this concept) can find in a widespread semantics with extreme connotations. This can be reflected better than everywhere in various expressions and phraseologies, which have their source in wide popular creativity, in folklore and proverbs. Silence as courage, silence as fear, silence as a benefit, silence as poverty of thoughts and expressions, silence as wisdom and reliability, silence as "given word”, silence as nobility, silence as wisdom, silence as taboo, silence as belonging, silence as... There is not missing expressions whose semantic hearth is silence, special and characteristic of both languages in particular, in many cases similar in form and content, sometimes with an spread across Balkan areal, qualified as balkanisms or even beyond. We hope to give a clear semantic picture regarding silence through concrete examples of expressions and phraseologies of two languages.

Sur des rives opposées : Ivo Andrić et Ismaïl Kadaré

Author(s): Jean-Paul Champseix / Language(s): French / Issue: 01-02/2009

Ismaïl Kadaré, when he began "The Three Arches Bridge" in 1976, was in a difficult situation. The protests of the Albanian Communist Party against the novel "The Winter of Great Solitude", narrating the break between Albania and the Soviet Union, were such as to prevent any translation of the book. The author, furious, had the imprudence to propose to publication a macabre poem, "The Red Pachas", which vilified the bureaucracy. The text was labeled a "sinister counterrevolutionary tract". After two weeks of anguish, the writer was summoned by emissaries of the Central Committee to examine his "self-criticism", a rite necessary to obtain pardon. He claimed that he had no intention of harming the regime and argued his fame abroad had made him lose all measure. When the censors asked the author himself which punishment he deserved, he declared that it would be profitable for him to live for some time in contact with the people in Central Albania. He was sent there at the end of 1975, and received firm advice to stop writing.

Author(s): Manjola Sulaj,Polo Olieta / Language(s): English / Issue: 1/2016

The poetry of Giuseppe Schirò Di Maggio, one of the most important nowadays personalities in the field of Albanian literature, is a “window” that provides the Arbëresh world recognition from different perspectives, focusing especially on highlighting the existence and the Arbëresh identity preservation but also the risks that threaten it. In this article we aim to show that the national ideology in the poetry of Giuseppe Schirò Di Maggio is a constant philosophical poetry which becomes an Albanian conscience reviving the hope to strengthen the part of the Albanian ethnic identity to the Arbëresh people, previously isolated and now opened to the Albanian world, and emotionally part of it. In the context of the Arbëresh community to which he himself belongs, Giuseppe Schirò Di Maggio is a poet with clear targets and a leader of today’s Arbëresh world with his ideals.
